  Plenty of spice and good depth and length of flavour without much in the way of complexity. Fine boned, linear and a little bitter. Decent wine, and the high acidity was a welcome foil to roast duck, but I wonder whether the vineyard's relatively high altitude exacerbated rather than ameliorated the 2006 vintage character.

  Great Burgundy 06-10 tasting Oslo October 2017 (At Kim Aa's place, Ulvøya, Norway): Klar, transparent rød. Herlig duft med vosne-spice, mørke bær, varme krydder- og tretoner. Stor fylde, god konsentrasjon, stram og elegant - her er det mye å gå på, i motsetning til forrige flaske drukket for en måned siden - den var varm og sliten.

  Dyp rød med en anelse murstensbrunt i kanten. Her er godt moden duft med en delikat miks av fjøs og stall, modne jordbær/markjordbær og en delikat eim av tunge, søtlige kryddertoner. Kraftig og ganske stram i anslaget, frukten er kommet over i en godt moden fase og preges av varme, syrlige bær. Massiv og kanskje ikke så veldig elegant, men flott konsentrasjon og 'power' fremfor finesse, tanninstruktur som i en småmoden barolo og syre så det holder. En fin, moden valgvin - tror neppe den vil bli bedre til 2021.
