Classic, appealing red Burg nose, full of red fruit and the suggestion of something floral, and promising a great deal. Somewhat disappointing on the palate after that, perhaps living up to 2007's more pejorative classification as a lesser, lightish vintage, as the midpalate lacked impact and the finish was somewhat short. That said, the perfume was definitely lovely, and the wine was a good foil for our food.

Nose earthier and funkier than clean, balanced palate. Great acid and overall structure frame dark but "elegant for 1st cru Vosne" fruit. No rush to drink, but certainly not disappointing either.

Pop and pour. Beautiful in the glass. Tart acidic first glass with no real nose, some fruit and earth underneath.
Much smoother after the bottle had been open an hour. Tartness gone and a kind of light, chocolate/mocha thing was going on Still not much on the nose
Very classy with a lot of finesse.
Didn't have as wide or deep a flavor profile as the Faiveley Chambertin Clos de Beze we had a few weeks back but there was something a bit more magical going on with this bottle

Pale, wan, and not much going on on the nose. But on the palate there is a penetrating cherry menthol taste, with shifting additional earth and metal tones. Attractive, beguiling.
