There is still a good chunck of life in this wine but it is getting tired. Golden color. Nose reveals nice yellow fruit aromas, nuts and honey. A touch of oxidation. Quite opulent. The palate is really enjoyable, rich but enough acidity to make the wine not too heavy on his feet. Based on this bottle, drink up.

An extraordinary wine! There is simply no other word. Fans of old Clos des Mouches Blanc will know exactly what I mean, but to others take note: this is a glorious wine. Two hours after opening, it continued to evolve: fresh, rich, complex, long. Had it been served blind, we would have all bet it was a great Montrachet or perhaps a Batard.

Deep, golden color. Mature nose of caramel and hazelnuts. On the palate it is very mature and showing an oxidized flavor with strong notes of caramel and butterscotch but there is surprising intensity and good acidity on the back-end. Hollow in the middle and clearly past its best but interesting and not undrinkable by any means with some mineral complexity on the finish. From a perfectly stored bottle purchased on release and then this last bottle lost in the cellar for years. The fill was still near the top!

Occasional dinner group: Bordeaux 1982 (@ Treeswijkhoeve, Waalre, Netherlands): Not so many notes. In the bouquet honey and minerals. On the palate limestone minerals, full bodied and a bit fat. Good acidity and length. 90 - 91
