Looks like there was a different wine in the bottle: no bold Bordeaux GCC as you would expect. Mediocre made. very disappointing. Perhaps it is why it was a bargain in the supermarket for € 14 a bottle? Mass production?

Better on the nose, with its cedar, tobacco, and sharp, red berry profile, than on the palate. Medium bodied, with a bright, crisp, red fruit character, the wine manages to be strict and short. This is what my old school British friends would have called four square.

First impression: one of the more feminine Pauillac that i've had in a while! Ruby with orange tinge. The nose is quite developed with hints of animal, leather, touch of ripe juicy plums with a slight underlying tone of florality. On the palate, good complexity with leather, cherries and plums and oak spices. Can tell that it has undergone some development with its emerging animal notes. Value wise is better than chateau rauzan-gassies 2008. (tasted alongside with RG 2008) Good balance and overall a very delicious wine, especially at its price point.
