(Blind tasting) Full, powerful, rich nose. Nettles, maturing cheese and oak. Lovely, fullish palate with maturing notes of honey, fat, oak and nettles. Harmonious with freshness still around. Good length. Lacks some layers of complexity. Can be kept 2-3 years more.

Terroir-istes International - France, Bordeaux, Pessac-Leognan Blanc, Part 1 (Rodwell House): Light straw-yellow colour, the perfumed aromas are aniseed, buchu, mint, marjoram, white chocolate and toasty oak. A powerful yet attractive entry, the wine is bold and ripe with lots of fleshy fruit set against a lively crunchy acidity. Lots of citrus with tangerine, blood grapefruit, breakfast punch, minerals and dry rocks are all supported by well-managed oak that shows spice and vanilla pod. Good depth of flavour (but expected more), the wine is expressive with a nice mineral edge to a more medium to long finish.
