Jadotfest 2023 (Noizé, London): Medium red, sweetness and a bit of meaty leathiness. This has developed some high-toned polish, it's slick, sleek and delicious, retaining excellent crispness alongside some signs of aging - a harmonious tang of sweet tannins, fruit and acidity. That said, I wouldn't have guessed 1998, these Jadot wines seem to be very long-lived and age-worthy, and this had plenty left in the tank. My third favourite wine of the night.

Jadotfest 2023 (Noizé, London): Bright redcurrants on the nose with some marrons glacées as well as something high-toned, Ian thinks nail polish remover I know what he means, this element has a lemony streak as well. It is most noticeable on pouring and fades into the background somewhat. There are also some roasting juices with time. Palate is crisp, red fruited and pleasantly acidic. Great food wine. Prefer this of the two Ursules.

1990s Burgundy, part one (Noize): Initial impression was of blockiness. Chewy, with graphite and a touch of truffle showing some development, and not unenjoyable, but overall sense was of a strict, somewhat ponderous wine. Lacked the joie de vivre of the 1997 tried last year.

Nick A’s 1990’s burgundy (Noizé, London): Smoother, more rounded on the nose. Dark red fruit. A touch of cherry tune to give some lift. Nicely resolved. Lacks some energy but a decent drink. ***1/2

My last two bottles from the case. Raspberries, herbs, wilted rose and minerals on the nose. Palate was expressive with delicate wild berries. Drinking very well now. Lovely.
