  • (Mielcke&Hurtigkarl) At first showed burnt cauliflower, then moving on to Danish rye bread and soya. Great full-bodied taste with creamy mousse. Outstanding food wine.

  • Drank from a magnum, against Pierre Gimonnet VV Collection de Millesime 2005. More round and warm, a full attractive nose with more flesh. Though side by side I feel this is a bit more tame, ready, and understandable. 16/20

  • In the cellar for 4 years. Made from old vines in Cramant with 2g/L dosage. Golden color; medium intensity aromatics, brioche, green apple, citrus; palate is medium-full bodied with great richness but also bracing medium-plus acidity, no perceptible sweetness, lemon zest, slight lemon pith bitterness, length is a bit stunted through the midpalate; finish is clean with some tart lemon, medium to medium-minus length. This is interesting for the price (~$65) with great freshness while showing hints of age, but overall is a bit sharper than I look for (extra brut) without the depth, complexity, or concentration of fruit to quite balance it out. 88
30 minutes in the glass and the bubbles disappear, and the base isn't quite as good as I thought. 87

  • Beautiful and bold nose of yellow fruits, pears, fresh dough and green apple peel, with hints of gun powder and white pepper. More pears on the palate and hints of herbals too. Very good concentration. Pronounced acidity. Long finish. On its tail, there is a disconnected grapefruit note that I could really have done without. 90p
