Community Tasting Notes (5) Avg Score: 87.9 points

  • Ruby-garnet in color, medium intensity, showing some amber on the rim. The nose is clean, somewhat closed, of medium intensity. aromas of black fruit, some wood, tobacco. The nose is developing. The palate is dry, with medium alcohol, medium (+) acidity, medium (+) tannins. The mouth-feel is medium, maybe a little lean. There's good minerality. The body is medium to medium (+). Flavors are consistent with the nose, with medium intensity, The finish is medium in length. Overall, this is a fairly well balanced wine, leaning slightly towards the "hard" side of the spectrum. Definitely improves with food and with time in the glass. It is still a little tight and austere after three more years of bottle ageing. I am not sure that further ageing is going to help, however, because there's not an abundance of fruit left in it.

  • Opened 24 hours-airtight sealed overnight. Brick-violet color. Rose-petal, cherry, and stone notes on the nose with a little bit of earth. Consistent rocky, floral, and red fruit notes on the palate. Just a little earthiness. Delicate with strong acidity. Lightly weighted and textured, with soft tannins and a modest finish with consistent notes. Well made, enjoyable, mildly interesting over the short term.

  • Silvio Nardi at Rococo, Sofitel, (Dubai): Medium ruby red, red fruits, cherry, some oak tones. Light to medium body, dry, full of red fruits, plum, soft integrated tannins, bitter sweet medium finish for about 6-8 sec. At Rococo in Dubai.
    Value/money = 8.

  • Had it at the Kobrand's tasting at Specs' last night. A very nicely balanced, traditional baby Brunello, at a good price. It is still very tight, however, and should probably be set aside for a couple of years for maximum enjoyment.

  • beautiful shiny and clear colour - rather light. nose: earthy with a little bit of tobacco but with fresh fruit. taste:l young, tannic with dose of chocolate - too much accidity - so becoming a little bit sour. Keep.
