Nail polish, iron and dark fruit. Very reticient in a way that it seems like it will never evolve. More rhone than burgundy. On second pour, it showed more herbs and sweet dark fruit.

Very Chambertin, with loads of earth, a hint of pomegranate, wet leaves, spicy cranberry, and a touch of funk. On the palate, sweet earthy red fruit, a hint of vanilla, great acidity, more cranberry and some grainy tannin on the finish. Very good, esp. with our Cornish Game Hens!
Day 2: unrefrigerated overnight. Nose starting to show a faint hint of oxidation, with a touch of wet leaf, but still has the same spicy cranberry, sweet earth drive. The acidity is still zippy, but this comes off as slightly more flat today, with more attenuated tannin.
Seems to have peaked.

Jeremy Holmes has it spot on. This is gorgeous wine with all the freshness and spiciness you would hope for in a GC Chambertin. Beautiful sour cherry and minerality and forest floor on the nose. Paired crazy well with Spiced Duck Tagliatelle with pecorino and mushrooms

Still incredibly fresh and youthful. Complex aromatics of meat, iron, cherry, earth and smoke. In the mouth it has dark cherry fruit and all sorts of savoury nuance. The old school Faiveley grip adds real freshness to the finish.
