Gorgeous old school Burgundy that is in a fully blossomed drinking window. Still plenty of freshness and richness to the fruit, though it is laced with earth, mushroom, and an array of spices. Holds on strong for a few hours.

This has a gorgeous perfume of sweet, mature black cherry, incense, smoked game and dried porcini. Fruit is still so fresh on the palate with plenty of sweetness accented by meat and spice. Juicy finish with fully integrated fine tannins. Great old school wine that I can only Imagine needed every bit of 35+ years to settle in.

A Birthday Celebration (Taste 222 - Chicago IL): Small glass, brief note. Very old school. Fully mature red fruit with lots and lots of earth, mushroom, braised meat and background spice. Good weight, good+ balance and very good length. Very enjoyable, I'd just want/ expect a little more fruit and/ or density from such a good vintage Grand Cru.

Another exceptional bottle that hasn't budged in a year.

Birthday Celebration (Racquet Club - Chicago IL): Mature black fruit with faint meat and lots of layered complexity. Even better than previous bottles.
