Chateau L'Eglise-Clinet Vertical (Bentley Hotel, London): Noticeably older, real orange to the rim. Fruit not noticeable on the nose, more meaty lamb and camembert. Very sweet again, lacking in tannin to bring balance. A delicious but uncomplicated finish.

Creamy berries in the bouquet. Butter and ripe fruits in the taste. Pleasant oak. Some sweetness. Soft but powerful tannin. Elegant and complex. Great wine.

At a shower for Brett and Diane at Susan and John's in San Jose. Nice ruby red. Looks alive. Browning slightly. Somewhat bizarre, yet still fruity nose. Smooth entry. Elegant, velvety in the mouth. Stiff tannins. (Tasted blind: I thought it was a Chateauneuf-du-Pape.) 3-3-11-2: 69/100.

Smoky aroma but otherwise non descript. Cedar and wood on the palate. Somewhat past it’s prime.
