Bright mid-gold with a green tinge. Little sign of development based on appearance. Nose - vibrant, fresh and complex - still lots of fruit (citrus and figs) with honey, quince, chamomile and buttered toast. Palate - medium bodied. Intense flavours with lots of fresh acidity. Great balance. If I had tasted this blind I would have guessed it was at least 10 years younger. Outstanding.

From magnum with no ullage and pristine cork so an unusually good bottle in that respect. Fresh still, dense wine. Seems atypical for HV semillon. Medium bodied and was clearly outclassed by a Lovedale '11.

Medium yellow. Lemon zest. Tight chiselled profile that flares on the final. Very lemon palate with a freshly cut green pepper capsicum note that adds a bittering complexity to the long final.
Interesting wine but I find it a touch too acidic and lean for my tastes.

11%abv. Quite dark coloured. Some oxidation, but acceptable. Classic wax, lanolin etc. Some lemon. A little too fierce acidity for some.
