Drinking beautifully now. Lovely fruit, good balance, medium long finish, tannins resolved, no sharp edges anywhere in sight. We finished this bottle within 2 hours after opening; I didn't think it was evolving much in the last 30 minutes. Not sure there's much upside to waiting to drink additional bottles.
90 mins in the decanter, consumed over the next 4 hours. Was at peak about 3 hours post opening. Wonderful smoky nose, notes of menthol, eucalyptus, tobacco, and dark forest floor fruits. Perfectly in balance, the wine was velvet smooth with resolved tannins. Favour this to 2003 Montrose right now. I don’t think this is going to get much better than where it is now. Very impressive wine. 95pts

This was exceptional right from the open. Super rich and exploding from the glass immediately out of the bottle. It did not transform too much throughout the night, but stayed consistent, if not getting a little leaner/more elegant as I moved through the bottle.

This was exploding out of the glass immediately after pouring. Delicious. It did not change much throughout the evening. If anything it may have leaned up/become more elegant as the night went on. But amazing value and tremendous wine.
had six weeks ago side by side with an 03 montrose; both were terrific and am vague other than i am happy to have more of both un my cellar and neither were too jammy or too hot per the critics of this vintage
