French but no Burgundy/Bordeaux theme: My contribution. Everyone guessed northern Rhone for this as well which I could understand better. More structured with dense purple fruit compared to the Joguet alongside, still very youthful as most guessed early ‘10s for the vintage. Good Bandol reds can take some time to come around.

Lovely Bandol. Still going strong and still very tannic, but really well balanced. Very much in the tertiary stage, but still ascending to the summit and I feel it could be another 5 years at least before it gets there.
The fruit is certainly not fading. Fantastic nose and length on the palate with a finish that lingers for minutes. Typical aged characteristics you get on the nose and palate with a wine from this varietal. A tiny bit of alcoholic heat after 20 seconds that goes after 40 seconds that I can’t remember getting as much of in the 22 other bottles I’ve had of this over the years. Deep red colour with no browning on the rim. Also, every single cork I’ve pulled from these has been in magnificent condition, no soakage whatsoever.
The Pibarnon vintages I’ve had have been on the more Burgundian side of Bandol, but I’m finding the more age you give them the more they take on the gutsier side of Bandol.
Will be holding on to the last bottle until 2034 at least.
Bravo!

Was such a great bottle to drink and follow over 24 hours. Initially, this was showing dried cherry and strawberry, game, garrigue, stewed tomato, balsamic, but in a tight knit package. This wine doesn't show the intense power that Bandol often provides, and is a much more elegant and tame rendition. So if you're looking for that beast-like Bandol, this is not it. If you want the Burgundy side of Bandol, this is killer. I agree with most of the notes below that this is at peak, and maybe, depending on bottle variation, just starting to go past peak. Also agree with the note on decanting if you want to enjoy it that evening. Consumed this straight out of bottle and was showing best after hour 4 and just about stayed there until I polished it off the next day. Drink up!

Relatively deep and bright. The first whiff was balsamic and the palate similar, but soon it evolved with elegance and a dried strawberry and herbal note on top of the balsamic which seemed to recede. Impressive in an under-stated way.

Very good....needs to be decanted early on and needs some time to open up....very subtle bouquet, round and smooth, with a long, mineral finish...garrigue, earthy flavours, black fruit...very nice. Should be drunk within the next couple years
