Tasted by smenzies on 12/25/2021 & rated 98 points: The greatest expression of Hunter Semillon I have ever had. (1083 views)
Tasted by Jason Wu on 6/23/2020 & rated 95 points: Lime, pebble, wet wool, small white flowers, toast, smoke, blue cheese, medium plus flavour intensity, medium plus finish.
Very good wine. Although still young, you can taste the potential. Love the fruit concentration on the palate. (1626 views)
Tasted by Andrew67 on 12/27/2019 & rated 92 points: Nice Semillon. Bright fruit with lemon and citrus. I think this will evolve very nicely for the next few years. (1493 views)
Tasted by msuwine on 9/18/2017 & rated 88 points: A zippy and light Semillion that is drinking well right now. Light yellow in color, light in body, muted nose of lemon and crushed rock. Tastes of orange peel, lemon rind, grapefruit, and green apple, with a tart finish. 10.8% alcohol. Although this may be a function of its youth, I didn't get any of the honey or vanilla notes that fuller Semillion can have, and the acidity made it hard to gauge much depth in the fruit. This is refreshing, if a bit straightforward. (2957 views)
Tasted by Bakerbd on 12/22/2016 & rated 91 points: White flowers, grapefruit and lemon (2637 views)
Tasted by wormfarmer on 4/10/2016: Had this by myself, some 20 hours after it was likely opened. Still all kinds of lively lemon. (1863 views)
Tasted by RajivAyyangar on 10/20/2015 & rated 88 points: Wine and Spirits Top 100 tasting - 2015 (The Metreon, SF): Light greenish-straw, lots of green.
Waxy lime peel, a bit plasticky and reductive.
Lean, mean, and green. Needs time.
Light body, diminished alcohol 11-11.5%? (actually 10.8%)
High acid. No phenolic bitterness.
Squeaky clean - no malo, no oxidative aging.
Score: Between 8.5 and 9. (2960 views)
Tasted by Teebs on 10/4/2015 & rated 93 points: Still young and has a steely mineral length. Looking forward to seeing this over the medium term. (2017 views)
Tasted by chatters on 3/21/2015: Prince - Hunter Sems old and young (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Lemon, tending to stone fruit, and apple with slight spice. In the mouth there are forward fruit flavours of green apple, peach and quite a textured and broad palate. I'm not usually a fan of Thomas wines but this one, today, is quite nice. (2295 views)
Tasted by Amysyd on 2/1/2015: Ideal for accompanying seafood. Great now, but worth holding for medium term. (1464 views)
Tasted by graemeg on 1/17/2015: Hunter Valley - 6 Cellar Doors (Hunter Valley): {screwcap, 10.8%, A$30} Predictably youthful but surprisingly citrusy nose. The palate is crunchy; it’ rather minerally and crystal-like, with lemongrass flavours spotlit by medium/high acidity. It’s still only light/medium-bodied, with a dry, medium-length finish. Should be very good, although this cuvee does seem to be primarily a medium-term cellar prospect. (2174 views)
Tasted by Bev O. Vini on 1/6/2015 & rated 92 points: An utterly charming, young semillon. Low alcohol at 10.8%. Pale yellow-green colour. Kiwi fruit, melon and a trace of green capsicum on the nose. A sweet zing of fruit flavours at first, then a slightly savoury finish. Lovely balance. I don't use the word 'quaffable' often, but this wine fits the bill. (942 views)
Tasted by chatters on 9/12/2014: Wine-Ark boys on tour - Hunter Valley 2014 - Day 1 (Hunter Valley): Green melon, apple, slight candied note, slight spice. In the mouth apple, slight spice both drop quickly. Meh (1290 views)

Braemore

The Braemore vineyard, situated on the sandy alluvial flats of Hermitage Road, consistently produces outstanding semillon featuring freshness, vibrancy and remarkable longevity. This is a traditional Hunter Valley style exhibiting delicate lemon and lime fruit characters intermingled with an attractive grassy complexity, and is supported by a zesty, citrus-like acidity providing a pleasing purity and freshness to the finish. Braemore vineyard is one of the Hunter Valley's most awarded vineyards.
