  • 2003 Château Palmer 89 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux

As per my previous notes on this vintage it is not a great year and Palmer really tried hard and made a lovely rich deep and round wine.

Fig, spice and smoke with red berries. Soft ripe tannins. A little bit of greenish undertones.

  • 1986 Château Gruaud Larose 95 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien

This is a really amazing wine.

Really heavy and powerful and after 25 years it is still packing a punch. Hardly any bricking.

Dark red fruit with leather and chocolate.

This will keep going for a lot longer.

  • 1986 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 97 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

    Amazing wine

Full structure still there and still vibrant and fresh.

Plumb, chocolate and red berries with a cigar box and wood taste.

This is an amazing Pichon from a classic vintage that just keeps going.

THIS WAS THE WINE OF THE NIGHT

  • NV Gosset Champagne Brut Grande Réserve 92 Points

    France, Champagne

A lovely refreshing and light NV from Gosset. It has a great array of green fruits and some acidity but not too much.

I really do like this house

  • 2003 Château Guiraud 94 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes

What a lovely Sauternes. The 2003 was such a great year for Ch Guiraud

Massive honey and burnt sugar tastes with a rich complex round full mouth feel. Not too over the top and has a lovely balance.

I am so happy I have a few cases of this.
