Introduction
Great visit with our friend Olivier Masmondet from Jadot. Also the 2010 Grand Crus were just racked so we were unable to taste.
2010 Louis Jadot Volnay

Slightly floral start with good red cherry aromas. All red fruit on palate, rather modest with commensurate structure.

2010 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Ursules Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru
Red cherry and berry aromas with mint, anise, black pepper and summer flowers. Bright red cherry flavors, starts with subtlety and expands and unfolds towards finish. Very impressive this year. Interesting to note that for the 2011 vintage going forward Jadot will also be producing a Beaune 1er Vignes Franches, the vineyard in which Ursules is situated, purchased from the former Domaine du Chateau de Chorey. This wine is worth seeking out.

2010 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Boucherottes Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot

Black cherry, meaty, dense and firmly structured. Good, but not quite as good as the Jadot 2010 Beaune Ursules or Couchereaux also tasted this afternoon.

Sweet red and black cherry aromas with floral background and meaty spice. Big and bold cherry flavors. Chewy and dense with firm tannins.

Dense blackberry aromas with a brooding character. Dense black fruit on palate, tannic and firmly structured. Good Pommard 1er.

Bright red cherry aromas with spring flowers and baking spice. Red and black cherry on palate with good overall structure. Moderate finish and intensity.

Strawberry and red cherry on both nose and palate with good spice. Impressive length, power and textures for its level. Impressive Villages level wine.

2010 Louis Jadot Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots Domaine Gagey

Black cherry and blackberry aromas with dried herb aromas and meaty spice. Dense, chewy and powerful with a brooding black fruit character on palate. Tannic and firm, this is a 2010 that will certainly benefit from extended cellar aging.

2010 Louis Jadot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes Domaine Gagey

Red cherry aromas, followed by red and black cherry on palate. Modest spice. Large scaled for a Chambolle-Musigy, somewhat chewy and bold vs. lacy, but overall a very exciting 1er.

Bright red cherry aromas with fresh herbs. Similar fruit on palate with great overall balance. Lacy, textured and precise with a long, great finish. Very impressive.

Ripe red cherry aromas with delicate baking spice. Well balanced overall on palate with lots of energy and precision, very elegant even if not the most powerful wine in the lineup.

Black and red fruit aromas with big spicebox. Same on palate, also highly structured. This will take some time to integrate but has great raw materials.
