My last bottle. A bit dilute but still aromatically complex. This is completely resolved and the only reason to hold it is if you want everything tertiary. Doesn't have that extra kick and depth of fruit that Jaodt Chapelle can have.

Pale/medium garnet core, pale garnet/mahogany rim. Nose is developed, quite complex with spice, game, underlying red fruit, perhaps just a touch of oxidation. Medium bodied on the palate, soft and harmonious with balanced acidity, red fruit, touch of black cherry, very spicy, liquorice, good length finish. Very enjoyable, fully ready and given the slight oxidative element to the fruit on the nose it is probably time to start drinking this up.

Jadot Cellar Visit and Tasting, Mostly 2010 barrel Samples (Beaune): Popped and poured. Slightly mature black cherry aromas with modest spice. More nuanced on palate with black fruit, mushroom reduction and meaty spice. Lots of power for the vintage, this is close to its peak.

I wanted to see how Jadot GC's were evolving in an "earlier" drinking vintage. Normally I would not touch one for a minimum of 15 years. This was very tight on opening, decanted and drank over the next two and half hours. Began to open up and show complexity at about 90 minutes. Was best at two hour mark to the end. Not a big GC, but more in the finesse style. Revisit in about four years.

This was very tight, very straight and frankly seemed to lack character. Well made, but way under performing for this level. Could it be shutting down?
