Just a superb wine that seems to be at peak. Flamboyantly fragrant with forest floor, tapenade, leather and bouillon. Svelte and silky on entry as it cloaks the palate. Lingering finish. Beautiful wine.

This is what I love in Cornas. Bloody and meaty, with a rustic edge (in the best possible way). Wonderful, extroverted nose, deep palate with ample fruit and nicely resolved tannins. Savory and delicious. Yum.

Deliciously evolved wine, with plums, earth, smoke and a hint of wet leaves and cocoa powder. So much going on the palate, that I wished it had a bit longer finish.

I would be hard pressed to pick this as a 2003 wine, as there is so much freshness to the corpulent fruit. Cassis, plums, violets and stones. All about potential here, as the structure needs to resolve a bit more and the secondary flavors need to evolve. A powerful wine with great poise.

Having bought this for $40 on release, it was nice to try a bottle and confirm what a bargain it was back then. Still young and dense, with cassis, leather, licorice and cocoa. The finish is long, with a hint of cedar, but this really need more time to integrate and develop those aged Bordeaux flavors that are so intoxicating. This has a lot of promise.

I found this enjoyable, for what it was, but I feel this has seen better days. Mostly tertiary flavors here of dried leaves, dried red fruits and leather. Very soft and light with a hint of balsamic which suggests this will probably get worse, rather than better. Not rated.

A bit less silky than I remember it. Perhaps it needed more air, since although it was excellent, it wasn't as smooth and layered as my previous taste. Perhaps it suffered from the other wines poured that night as well, which were older and much more velvety. Still, this showed wonderful primary, crunchy red fruits, subtle spice and stone notes and a grippy finish. Needs time to integrate.

The cork was a bit suspect, as it was not a very tight seal; the cork came out easily and cleanly, without any effort. In fact, the cork was turning as I inserted the worm. The wine smelt sound after I pulled the cork. As I decanted it, there was very little sediment. The aroma and taste started to quickly take a turn for the worse, becoming sharp, balsamic and heavily laden with volatile acidity. Lean and linear, with a loamy, autumnal character. It seemed to improve a bit with more air, but in the end, this seemed a bit dried out, sharp, slightly oxidized and out of balance. Not rated.

All I can say is... Wow. This BA attacked the palate with apricots, baked peaches, orange zest and elderflower (think St Germain liquor). Intensely sweet and concentrated, yet so finely etched with monstrous acidity. Ridiculous length. A perfect match for baked pears. Did I mention the length... Wow.

I just had a quick taste of this, but I did find it delicious and refreshing. Classic fino notes of nutskin, citrus and salt. Nice intensity and lip-smacking persistence. Great way to finish the night.

A pleasant, crisp, citrus-dominated wine. A bit of herbs and a kiss of deft oak. Nice palate cleanser.

Lively, airy and lifted. Showing development, but some upside still seems probable. Wonderful, palate-scraping acidity. A bit of spritz (from the Coravin?) added freshness. Excellent length.
