Started off very tight and tart, albeit powerful. Opened and got richer after 15-20 minutes. Lots of apple and pear with some spice hints that eventually gave this a soft, rounded edge for Blanc de Blancs. Long and powerful. Certainly better to cellar for a few years and then enjoy medium term, 2020 forward.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru
Fully mature stone and orchard fruit and honeycomb. Nicely spiced, slightly sweet. Very good concentration, good+ length. Time to drink up. Slightly more advanced vs another bottle from the same 6-pack opened this summer.
Rich orchard fruit with lots of toasted nuttiness. Clearly rich, but also very nicely balanced for the vintage. Good+ length. good concentration. Probably best to enjoy over the next few years.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Black cherry, plum and roasted meat with very good concentration and layers of flavors. Powerful and rich, with very good balance. Much like the last bottle from approximately 5 years ago.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Popped-and-poured. Very ripe and lush, this comes across as very "1997" in that regard, but slightly older than I might have thought/ hoped. Sweet spice, braised meat notes, good+ fruit still hanging in there nicely. Best when first poured. Definitely time to drink up.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
A wine I've often enjoyed in the past, but now 2 sub-par bottles in 2 months. This was certainly tasty and enjoyable, but came across as fully mature and getting tired. Oddly, last month's bottle was too firm and ungiving. Neither were from my cellar, and I know mine have been perfectly stored since release so will have to open one soon.

Tired, stewy. Heat damaged?

2002 Lucien Le Moine Chambertin-Clos de Bèze
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Open almost 2 hours before serving, most of which was in decanter. Others enjoyed this, but I found it very reductive and barely accessible.
