Drank at Copake with the Hallocks over a great chicken dinner. I've had this wine and my notes remain consistent. The wine is still a ruby color, tho with slight browning at the edges of the glass. Aromas of blackberries and black cherries, along with an earthy woodsiness. Medium-body, still plenty of black fruit, along with earth and a real herbal quality. The fruit has subsided a bit, bringing tertiary qualities more the fore, but the wine remains elegant and delicious, if a tad short and thin at the back end. Tannins are mostly resolved and there's a slight bitterness on the back end, but this was one of those wines that makes you sad when it's empty.

Lucien Le Moine Dinner with Mounir Sauoma (Sepia): In a flight of 02/06/09. The most consistently great flight among a night of wonderful wines. The wine was still fairly reduced which I found to improve with air. The nose is tough to evaluate initially but the layered darker fruit and herbs emerge. The plate is so broad and deep. Delicious.

Small Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Dinner (S.K.Y. Restaurant - Chicago IL): Open almost 2 hours before serving, most of which was in decanter. Others enjoyed this, but I found it very reductive and barely accessible.

Close second the the 02 Mazis, just a bit less of finish. Still a wonderful Beze.
