Tasted blind. Relatively youthful red, little or no browning, light colour; toasty oak and vanilla on the nose, spicy, floral, modern style, confit red fruit, clearly 100% destemmed, nice typicity; silky and rounded palate, sweet fruit and a lot of oak, youthful, attractive and open, structured; very resonance and length, but again with a lot of oak. Needs more time.

Tasted blind. Similar appearance to the previous wine; sweet red and blue fruit, toasty oak but less so than the previous wine, very good floral lift and depth; medium weight and lovely balance, light but astringent tannins, slightly rustic; salty finish, decent length. Looks good, needs 2-4 years.

Tasted blind. Light colour, mature but lively appearance; light and lifted nose, fresh but mature, rosehip, warmth from the oak; light and flowing palate but with slightly grippy tannins, just enough sève and charm; airy finish, good length. On the thin side.

Tasted blind. Relatively youthful appearance, starting to brown at the edges; compact and spicy nose, still quite closed, stems, opens up beautifully; good weight of sweet fruit on the palate, shows great posture, well-balanced, excellent oak integration, warm but elegant and fresh; complete finish, very good length. Needs more time, but there is real beauty here.

Tasted blind. Relatively youthful appearance, starting to brown at the edges; deep and powerful nose, more vinous and spicy than defined; quite old-fashioned on the palate, there is an unevenness here, slightly disjointed, black fruit, concentrated but tough; long finish. Not rated.

Tasted blind. Incredibly youthful and fresh, seemingly ageless, not a single sign of evolution, fresh but relaxed, slightly vegetal, long finish. Extra point for age. From JD's stone-cold cellar (10ºC all year round). It does seem to make a difference...

Tasted blind. Smooth, silky, spicy, seamless, ripe fruit, warmth, well matured, subtle for Pinot Meunier. General consensus was that this was a vintage champagne from 2006 of 2007. High praise indeed!
