Glass: Gabriel Gold From Magnum. Great, glowing golden yellow color. Clean pronounced and developing nose with some clear, ripe fruit, some candied fruits, herbs, honey. Very multi-layered and great. On the palate soft and round, dry with quite some residual sugar left, medium- acidity, very mineral, deep, a bit chubby, great balance and very looong. Still very young. 94-95
Glass: Gabriel Gold Great, glowing golden yellow color, very young. Clean medium+ intense, developing nose that needs some air to reveal a complex and deep nose with herbs, yellow stone fruit and some petrol. Bone dry, beautiful yellow fruit, lots of tension and pressure, very juicy and spicy. Long and lingering finish. Still very young with at least another decade of potential. 95+
Glass: Gabriel Gold Disgorged in 2012. Nice golden color. Beautiful, precise and focused nose. On the palate very rich but focused and precise. Deep and complex, great mineral notes and vibrant energy and tension. Very long and fine finish. Great Champagne for sure. Amazing experience!
Glass: Gabriel Gold Disgorged in 2015, 13,5% abv, 100% Chardonnay. The “Initial” was already great, but this was an epiphany! Amazing, intense nose, extremely complex and multi-layered, beautiful fruit, autolytic and mineral notes. Could smell this forever! On the palate bone dry and pure elegance and finesse! Very fresh, chalky mineral, clear fruit. Perfect balance and harmony. Very tiny and fine mousseux. Airy but also powerful and with vibrant energy. Loooooong finish. Still young with great potential. One of the best Champagne in my life so far. Amazing experience! 97-98
Glass: Gabriel Gold Quite closed nose with some floral notes, spices and pure, yellow fruit. Bone dry, very mineral and floral, great structure and phenolic. Fine herbs, floral notes and beautiful clear fruit (peach). Obviously very young – too young. Will be great to taste this wine in 5 and 10 years. Other vintners would take that as their top GG, for Keller it is “just” a village… Amazing. 92-93++
Glass: Gabriel Gold Very young, pale golden color with a green hue. Clean, medium+ intense nose with lots of herbs, chalk and smoke. Very deep. Bone dry, 13% abv, great, high and ripe acidity. Very juicy, awesome mineral notes, wonderful length, very complex. Still young with great potential 95+
Glass: Gabriel Gold Cruse bottling. High fill level. Tawny color, a bit dull. Very complex, fully developed nose with some blood, graphite, red fruit, spices and a hint of soy sauce. On the palate a beautiful balance, nice medium+ acidity, still well integrated, tobacco, blood. Silky tannin, very elegant and joyful. Drink up! 91
Glass: Gabriel Gold Tasted blind. Clear, deep ruby-tawny color. Clean, intense, fully developed nose with some blood, mint, herbs, truffles. Perfect integrated acidity, wonderful balance, still wonderful red and black fruit, silky, medium+ tannin. Long finish. Good length. Wonderful mature at its (or a bit past peak). 93
Glass: Gabriel Gold Deep, tawny color. Beautiful, clean typical Mouline nose with leather, smoke, blood and red fruit. Quite complex. Wonderful, perfectly integrated acidity, nice extract sweetness, perfectly balanced. All components blended nicely together. Red fruit, good mineral core. Aged in dignity. Great bottle for this off-vintage. 92-93
Glass: Gabriel Gold Brown, tawny color. On the nose some medicinal notes, black tea, tobacco. Very fine. On the palate also not felt apart: Black tea, high, still well integrated acidity, spiciness, some extract sweetness, good balance and length. Drink up. 89-90
Glass: Gabriel Gold Tasted blind. Great, medium+ intense, developing nose. Very fine, multi-layered with floral notes and beautiful spices and herbs, some underbrush. On the palate great acidity, perfectly integrated. Some violet notes, nutmeg, vanilla, beautiful clear red fruit, very mineral. Perfect balance, very feminine and elegant. Easy and joyful to drink. Long. Has decades ahead! 92-93
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Glass: Gabriel Gold Tasted blind. Beautiful, glowing color. Awesome nose, pure velvet aromas, very multi-layered, deep and complex. Spices, blood, red fruit. You can sell this as perfume! On the palate it is nearly perfect! Awesome acidity, perfectly integrated. Silky, ripe tannin. 13,5% abv. Wonderful clear, precise red fruit, some beautiful floral notes and a great mineral core. Silky texture. Amazing elegance and balance. Extremely complex wine but also so delicious and joyful to drink, that I could easily drink the whole bottles in an hour! Has decades ahead and will get even better. What a GREAT WINE! 96-97
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru
Glass: Gabriel Gold Deep, ruby-tawny color. Complex, deep and intense nose, a bit more masculine than the CSJ but really great with lots of tertiary aromas. On the palate again more masculine and compact than the CSJ, but also an epiphany: Everything is at its right place: Wonderful red fruit, perfect acidity and mineral notes, high and silky tannin. Wonderful spiciness, perfect and silky texture and freshness. Fully balanced and perfect harmony. Looong. Can Pinot get any better than this? Unbelievable… Still potential for further development. 97+
Glass: Gabriel Gold Glowing, neon orange golden color. Very compact nose with lots of spices and petrol. Bone dry, perfectly integrated, medium+ acidity. Pure yellow fruit, beautiful mineral notes, some notes of maturity, fine and balanced. Drink up. 92-93
Glass: Gabriel Gold Potentially not a perfect bottle. Very ripe and progressed. Lots of botrytis in the noses, bees wax. Off-dry, clear, ripe yellow fruit, honey. Lacks tension and complexity. 89-90
Glass: Gabriel Gold After such a lineup of great Pinots, the ONLY wine you can serve is a noble sweet, aged Riesling from the Mosel. And this bottle really served its purpose! Beautiful glowing golden color. Classic, intense Grünhaus notes with herbs, tangerine, vanilla, slate and spices. Deep and very complex. Great perfume! On the palate the white and sweet equivalent to the CSJ: So joyful to drink, but also very complex. Perfect acidity, very elegant, great finesse. Pure yellow fruit (tangerine), herbs and mineral notes. Everything is at its right place. Looooong and lingering finish, that lasts for minutes. Grünhaus at its peak. Maybe cask 83 from Abtsberg is a bit more complex, but this bottle at its peak is for sure 96-97
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru
Glass: Gabriel Gold Tasted blind. Unfortunately the last bottle of the night and I was already quite, hmm loaded. Wonderful Pinot, still very young, compact and dense with a great potential. Very sexy and elegant. 95-96
