Small glass, brief note. Intensely floral with rich apple and pear throughout, ending with some candied lemon peel and lemon custard hints as well plus a superbly complex finish.

Small glass, brief note. Floral and ripe with very good weight. Plenty of peach and apple cobbler. Best to enjoy young, as the 2nd bottle tonight proved.

My last bottle, still drinking beautifully. Ripe stone, orchard fruit with tropical hints, these easily manages to retain enough acidity and brightness. So much here with impressive density and energy.

Small glass, brief note. In 92/90/89/88/85 vertical, courtesy of Chet Kern. Late release from the domaine, these were Coche-Bizouard, which was later renamed Domaine Fabien Coche. Apple and pear with some butterscotch notes and sweet hints (botrytis hints?) that added further charm. I liked this more than most of our table tonight.

Rich and dense, very nicely fresh, just less complex or nuanced than the great examples of mature white Burgundy I adore. More time?!?

My favorite of the lineup. Rich and complex with powerful apple, baked apple and caramel apple competing for supremacy and we, the tasters, winning.

Small glass from magnum, brief note. Very rich throughout with elegant tannins and impressive density. Still a bit oaky , so not perfectly harmonious. Close to its peak drinking window, at least in this format. 94 point potential.

In 03/06/07/08/09/10 vertical. A bruiser and powerhouse coming across as the most brooding and backward of the vertical. So much great material here, but I think it's the rare 2003 that will reward more patience. 91 points today, but 92-93+ point potential.

In 03/06/07/08/09/10 vertical. Fantastic aromas of black and red cherry with roasted meat. Palate slightly less accessible, this got better and better in glass, so would have benefited from more air. Previous bottles were decanted and provided more pleasure.

In 03/06/07/08/09/10 vertical. Very ripe and fleshy, this starts out as opulent and flashy, but the structure emerges in the middle and keeps this in great balance. Long finish with lots of power. Better to cellar another few years.

Absolutely my favorite of this great vertical. Black cherry and plum with some red cherry note, all in front of roasted meat and spice hints. Truly stunning textures and near-perfect balance. This is a wine that should get more careful attention and consideration as it unfolds over an evening. Great now, with upside.

Tasted shortly after going through our 03/06/07/08/09/10 vertical, this bottle cam directly from Fourrier. Incredibly dense and rich like most 2005 Grand Cru reds, but shockingly elegant tannins. Black cherry, berry and plum with excellent depth, this is great now but still has upside from here.

Small late night taste. Also completely enticing aromatically with plenty of ripe orchard fruit and impressive concentration. Lush character makes wonder how this age/ mature, but there is so much great flavors this can easily be enjoyed now. I'd err on drinking this younger and fresher as well, 2020-2027.
