Others liked this more than me. I found the fruit too stewy. Still has some life and energy, and perhaps a success for the vintage, but not giving much pleasure.

Gorgeous nose of maturing black cherry with meaty spice. Deliciously rich with textural complexity of round fruit and fine, still grippy structure. At peak and should hold for 5-10 years more.

This is a stern, brooding wine - particularly in the context of the 2002 and 2010 served in the same flight. Dense and seriously concentrated black cherry with meat and spice. Non-delineated but this has plenty of stuffing and length. Should drink like the '02 is now in 5-10 years. Upside from here.

Wow, a revelation for me in terms of how good Serafin can be. Bright and intense aromas of rich, meaty black cherry. Ripe, big fruit is made so bright and energetic with balancing fresh acidity. Boldly flavored finish goes on an on. Grand Cru quality wine.

Compelling aromas of mature black cherry with licorice, minty and floral notes. Fairly typical 2002 with ripe, round and fresh fruits that is elegant and balanced. Enjoyable now and no reason to hold.

A lot to like here now but even more for its potential. Alluring aromas of meaty black cherry and intense spice. Powerful palate with bold, rich black cherry fruit and a firm tannic backbone that makes for a chewy finish. Better in a decade.

Layered aromas of black cherry, meat and spice that are classically Gevrey. Approachable and balanced with forward fruit. Good now, but better in 5+ years as this gains more nuance.

Bold, meaty and very ripe black cherry aromas. Brooding black cherry fruit with non-delineated meat and spice Needs a load of time (10+ years) and contrary to the 2005 Bouchard Cazetiers this is all potential with little pleasure now.

Really dirty and undrinkable.

Wow, divine aromas of pure black cherry with intense spice and florals. Rich and ripe on the palate yet so lively and bright. Awesome purity on the long, long finish. A terrific 1er.

2009 Maison Champy Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers 89 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Ripe and meaty black cherry aromas with some toast accents. Big and concentrated though still firm, making the palate compact. Better in 3-5 years.

2009 Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers 93 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Boastful aromas of black cherry, smoked meat and spice. Rich, broad and concentrated palate with ripe cherry fruit that envelops the mouth. Great depth and emerging nuance. Delicious now and could improve as this gain some additional complexity.

2010 Pierre Bourée Fils Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers 88 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Oddly this is nothing like a rocking bottle from just a few months ago. Solid aromas of black cherry with some spice and florals. Not that evocative of Gevrey - a down the middle and flat red Burg.
