In 02/07/09 vertical. Spiced throughout with red and black cherry, maturing gracefully. Good+ weight, very good length. Lots of nuance unfolding with more air. This was the best wine tonight, even if the 2009 will surpass it in the near future.
In 02/07/09 vertical. Prototypically Volnay with lots of red cherry, spice and floral notes. Very charming and pretty, with good weight and length, just not nearly the concentration of either the 2002 or the 2009.
In 02/07/09 vertical. Ripe and powerful, still youthful and vibrant, so still not yet showing all of Volnay's terroir nuances, but so much great fruit and spice. Very good+ length and power. I hadn't had this wine since just after release, and am glad to see it is just as exciting today as it was in 2012.

Mature apple and baked apple with toasted almond. Wonderfully energetic and vibrant with a long, polished finish. Wonder4fully fresh. Great now.

Plenty of apple and pear, clearly on the lean side but with good density and brightening acidity. Got better and even fresher with more time in glass.
