MG did a tremendous job in 2019 & 2020 from all the wines I had the priviledge of samling at that young stage. So too the Eche 2020 which is dense yet silky in texture, so much fruit packed in the glass here. Left overnight uncorked and day two it was still so youthful but more rounded and hinted at its immense potential from 2035 onwards. One for the cellar but it is (still) open today if you find it on a well priced wine list. Tremendous Eche and I clearly prefered this to a DRC GE12 and it felt on a par with CLB Reignots 17 that evening.

Mouchonnat Annual Off-Tasting - Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Beaune): Walk around tasting. Rich red fruit with so much savory spice showing lots of concentration and raw power. Lots here to enjoy, but backward and very cellarworthy. Great potential, 2030 forward, 93-94+ point potential. Identical to when tasted the other day.

Tuesday Burgundy Cellar Visits - Mugneret-Gibourg, Dujac, Château de la Tour, and Fourrier (Cote d'Or): Barrel tasting at the domaine, with Marie-Christine creating an assemblage from several barrels. Bright red fruit with a perfumed start. Engaging start on the palate, slightly burly in the middle today, then a long, brightening finish. Will need close to a decade in the cellar, very good potential. From 2 parcels. Younger plot was 100% destemmed, the older partly whole cluster, resulting in 20-25% whole cluster across the cuvee.
