Aromatic with ripe, flamboyant red cherry fruit, touch of nail polish. Florals. Medium bodied, lovely pure red fruits, transparent, soft, gentle tannins, fresh acids, quite long finish, medicinal notes. Lovely.

5/6. Pale mahogany. Quite developed, mushroon, truffle. Medium bodied, savoury with gamey notes, truffle again, fully resolved tannins, fresh acidity, finishes quite well.

Medium garnet. Attractive nose, red and darker fruit, slightly minty and herbal with some tar and smoke too. Medium bodied, has lovely energy, spicy red fruits, savoury notes, very fine tannins, vibrant acids, some saline notes on the good length finish. Excellent.

Pale garnet. Smoky, earthy and mineral but with a lovely floral top note.
Elegant and composed. Notes are a bit sparse on this one but I remember enjoying it

Florally nose, put-pourri, perhaps a touch of confection. Cinnamon. Medium/full bodied, red fruited, mineral notes, fine but still slightly firm tannins, vibrant acidity carries a good length finish.

This has a slightly odd oxidative nose which, once I fixed onto, I found hard to get past. It was dark, rich and spicy on the palate but again a touch oxidative with a medium length, slightly flat finish. Not rated as I suspect this is unrepresentative.

A little bit tight on the nose, spicy, mentholated. Medicinal red fruit on the palate, soft tannins, fresh acidity, medium length finish.

Quite youthful. Strawberries and vanilla, some florals, chalky note.
Harmonious on the palate with soft tannins and vibrant acidity. Finishes well. Excellent.

This showed tremendous potential, with lovely underlying pure red fruit and a sense of complexity but was still quite tight, reined in and there was a touch of swimming pool about it too. Again, not sure if this is fully representative. NR

Last wine of the night and not much on this one, but I recall a lovely, florally, saffrony Barsac, quite elegant and fresh.
