  Nick's "Good Barolo and Barbaresco" Dinner - Friday 22 March, 67 Pall Mall; 3/24/2024-3/25/2024 (67 Pall Mall): Lovely aromatics, aniseed, youthful and tannic, very good.

  Good Barolo and Barbaresco (67 Pall Mall): Seemed readier than the Fratelli to me. Deep, spicy, classic tar/roses nose that became increasingly floral with air. Good acidity and grip on the palate, with some orange peel and balsamic. Some mothball as well...! A bit overshadowed tonight, but fine nonetheless.

  Nick A's "Good Barolo and Barbaresco" at 67 PM (67 Pall Mall, London): Youthful, dark fruited with hints of cashew brittle on the nose. Tannins are slowly melding, some more Cherry Tune hints. With air suggestion of grated dark milk chocolate and basil oil on the nose.

  Harmonious on the palate with soft tannins and vibrant acidity. Finishes well. Excellent.

  As good as I remembered it, this has sweet liquorice, fennel seed and an enchanting twist of orange peel with thrilling strawberry-like acidity. Gorgeously feminine, this is my sort of Barolo. I’m willing to bet several cases that it won’t be long before prices catch up with quality and I’m looking back with slight amusement at the extraordinary value this wine delivered.
