Not quite as explosive as last time, maybe because it was opened very cold. As it warmed it came alive. Beautifully reductive nose with flowers and citrus, and a very fine lemon oil and mineral streak. Still quite Impressive

Andrew and Howard's birthday dinner: Cream on the nose with pear, almonds and a little sea breeze. On palate, a tactile texture with good structure and fruit volume. Good, refreshing acidity and well balanced. It was not surprising that this wine was a Puligny. Again, quite forward and open. Drink or hold short term. For the third time in a row I was thinking of how 2010 white Burgundies are confounding my expectations. From my tastings closer to release, I would have been expected these wines to be much more classical and now shut down on their acids … However, five years on that’s not what I’m seeing … It leaves me wondering if these wines will in fact be as long-lived as seemed likely on release (always of course assuming no premox) …

Good, without being too rich like a slutty Charonnay can be...Good acidity with hints of France in the bottle. I wish there was more France in the bottle, but glad it lacked California...Drink

POP, pale straw color, crisp and delineated and easily punches at the village level. Acidity was a perfect balance with a rich miso cod and ginger scallion lobster combo. One of the best QPRs out there in white burgs.

Superbe.

2nd bottle tried at Metropole this night. It suffered from the same "captain cold" treatment from the wine steward, however it was a better wine than the Clerget. White flowers, toasted almond along with pear and lemon peel notes in a pale straw colored wine. Very good when it warmed to a drinkable temp. For a village wine this was very good, although somewhat expected from LeFlaive. Recommended

We joined the Winemaker's Tour, which included a walk through several vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet followed by a visit to the winery and lunch at Le Maison Olivier Leflaive. We tasted this wine during a most excellent and very liquid lunch. Shockingly decent wine. Fresh, light. Inexpensive!!

Citrus, mild butter, pear, white flowers, and minerality. Excellent mid-palate and long finish. Very well-balanced and delightful. We paired this with a bottle of 2014 Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons, and this Olivier Leflaive super village wine performed better.

Vibrant green apple gold on the eye...cheeky invitation to dance by a lady with youthful rhythm. Aromas of toasty oak, honey and a blend of citrus fruits. Still a touch tangy on the nose...we feel potential coming down the road when she graduates to proper waltzing. Rich, brightly sophisticated, pleasant acidity and slightly vanilla cream on the palate. Delicious, voluptuous and tres sexy. We are looking forward to a second date when she evolves into a slightly more sophisticated young lady by 2017.

Olivier Leflaive Dinner with Jean Soubeyrand (Chez Patrick Restaurant, 2/F, Garden East, 222 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai, Hong Kong): We are now back into light silver-gold colour of the Villages 2009 after the brief interlude into light yellow-gold of the 1er Cru Les Pucelles 2009. The nose is so refined..... extremely understated but all the classic "power without weight" and finesse of classic top-tier white Burgundy Grand Cru is there. Absolutely fabulous...but you have to chase after it rather than have it come brazenly to you. Gorgeous on the nose. Palate is very young, unevolved and not yet balanced. But....then... the back end has this mounting resonance and slow-building but near-endless resonance that is thunder crashing. Oh gosh....I'm going into reveries! Still not balanced but beautiful. This will become an absolute beauty...but I'd always go for the 2009 Les Pucelles on a QPR basis. Erm, maybe not....

A very lovely creamy Chassagne with white fruit. Opened and decanted for two hours and drank over 2-3 hours then it seemed to be in a nice spot for a young white Burg where alcohol, acidity and fruit were in great harmony. I do like many 17s (white and red) and this was another strong performance for the vintage. The oak here seemed a little more integrated than some other 17s from this producer giving the wine a lovely creamy texture. Superb now and with a great future ahead. 92-93

Straw color. Fresh floral and citrus nose. Deep, pure, explosive flavors of peach, tangerine, melon, citrus. Creamy. Silky mouthfeel. Medium to long finish. Superb. Outstanding QPR. A blend of Puligny Montrachet and Mersault. This wine bests others more than 3x the price. Outstanding!

Tasted @ Olivier Leflaive, Puligny Montrachet: impressive Corton Ch but still a little bit early, with some acidity in the background; minerality and rounded oak (25% new) with notes of white fruit and flowers. Long life ahead will sure improve overall balance, but already outstanding.

Tasted at The Wine Society's London Wine Fair. My wife and I were disappointed with both Leflaive white Burgundies on show. Light silver colour. The nose is promising, soft and subtle, though not much fruit showing. The palate is a little bitter. We thought it was served a little warm and we think it is far too young. We reckon it needs a year or two to open up.

The nose displayed a combination of intense minerals, ripe pear and spice. On the palate, saline-minerality and vibrant acidity prevailed, providing constant tension. Still so young, and with such intensity.
