The 2017 isn’t quite so pleasing but, although still bright, I may have left it a little long to get the best of what was a tough vintage. In the nose, loads of crushed limestone, rosewater, honeydew melon rind, and grapefruit, nice intensity- but a little muted, the wine was pretty cold. In the mouth, the wine is acid forward, loads of under ripe kiwi fruit, melon rind, and grapefruit, grassy a nice stony finish. Not complex, not overtly simple, I like the intensity of the palate; reminds me of a lean NZ sauv blanc. Not a bad wine for the price, much better than others. Drink now. |
