Most wines under $20 will deliver competent bouquets but fail to accompany them with lush body and lenghty finishes (this does it all) |

This Malbec shows dark full body color with plenty of violet. The beautiful bouquet displays very ripe black and blue fruits with violets, blackberries and blueberries. There is also a port-like sweetness accentuated by licorice resembling some of the best Australian Shiraz. Palate is muscular with thick long-ageing tannins and beautiful medium to long finish with fruits, spices, and oak. This is excellent stuff with another 10 years to maturity, and a generous amount of fruit to shine in the years to come. 95+ |

Grange brings a sweet and racy dark fruits sprinkled with a dusty salinity that is extremely rewarding and refreshing at the same time. This 2001 is aging well with tertiary flavors of dried herbs and smoked meats, and a port-like disposition coming along and a Bourbon-like tinge of sweet must.
