Iron on the nose, meaty with red and black fruits and some oaky notes as well. Full body, lots of structure. Very youthful in the mouth with a ripe fruit profile. Needs a long time. Very good. 89+ |

After some time in the glass some volatile notes appeared but overall this was alive and well. A really nice treat. |

6/21/2011 - godx wrote: 89 pointsWineFanatic Tuscany Offline (Vancouver, BC): Tasted blind – This was pretty basic at first giving notes of lemon and apple but after 15-20 minutes in the glass it started to open up and show some toasty notes along with great minerality and acid. Slightly aggressive mousse and angular on the palate but I think this will fill out and become very nice. Extremely young but enjoyable nonetheless. Try again in 5 years. Very good. 89+ |

Nice toasty notes on the nose with citrus and orchard fruits. Great acidity on the palate with a soft yet lively mousse. Beautiful mineral notes on the finish. Drinks well now but a few more years should add even more complexity. Excellent. 90+ |

11/8/2011 - godx wrote: 89 pointsWineFanatic Nebbiolo Offline (Vancouver, BC): Tasted blind – This showed chocolate mint on the nose along with notes of vanilla and cherry notes—a modernist nose for sure. Softest and most supple mouthfeel so far tonight, almost fat in the mouth and doesn’t have the structure and firmness of the previous Ceretto Brunates. Didn’t peg this as a ’96. Like all the previous wine, this could use more time. Very good. 89+ |

Dusty nose with hints of sulphur, raw meat, blackberries and blueberries with a slight vegetal note. More dark fruits on the palate with grainy tannins. Very dry finish. Good amount of acid with a lengthy finish. Drink now and for another 5 years. Excellent. |

4/17/2013 - godx wrote: 90 pointsFrance 2013 – Northern Rhone; 4/17/2013-4/19/2013 (Ampuis): Tasted at the Domaine. Beautifully ripe and floral nose with dark fruits and spice—a classic syrah nose. Very tannic in the mouth but with a tad more polish than the 2010 Cornas from Clape. Loads of structure with a drying blackberry finish. Plenty of lively acidity. A very pure yet traditional Cornas. Needs 10-15+ years. (92-95pt potential). Excellent. 90+ |

Savory, meaty and perfectly mature. Still some tannins but wow this is drinking perfectly right now. Everything you would expect from a 25 year old Cornas from a great producer. Outstanding. |

4/17/2013 - godx wrote: 91 pointsFrance 2013 – Northern Rhone; 4/17/2013-4/19/2013 (Ampuis): Tasted at the Domaine. 40+ year old vines. A bit less expressive than the Chaillot on the nose. On the palate this has mouth coating tannins with liquor-like blackberry and black raspberry flavours. So much concentration yet no over ripeness. The tannins are insanely dry yet the flavours and mouthfeel are incredibly pure. Endless finish. This will need 15-20+ years. (93-96+ potential). Excellent. 91+ |

4/27/2013 - godx wrote: 90 pointsFrance 2013 - Paris (Paris): This was quite similar to the 2000 but with more structure and a richer and darker profile. Right now, the 2000 is drinking better as it’s more mature and showing more development, but I think this 01 has more potential and should be a better wine in 5-7 years. Excellent. 90+ |

4/27/2013 - godx wrote: 91 pointsFrance 2013 - Paris (Paris): Great Northern Rhone nose with black olive tapenade, bell pepper and savory aromas. Nice acidity with fine and gritty tannins. This reminds me of a slightly more polished version of Clape. Drinking very well but should peak in about 5 years and coast for another 5+ after that. Excellent. 91+ |

Beautiful nose, young but showing some developing notes of olive tapenade and dark plums. Again, an insane amount of tannins but with pure and classic syrah flavours. Plenty of acidity with a long finish. Needs 10+ years to its full potential. Excellent. 91+ |

Beautiful nose with lots of poopy notes, olive tapenade, dark fruits, salty meats and hints of bell pepper. Savory on the palate but with a touch more weight and polish than the ’96 Clape. Also seems more youthful than the Clape with less rusticity and more finesse. Based on this bottle this needs another 5 years before hitting its peak. Excellent. 92+ |

5/7/2010 - godx wrote: 89 pointsBill's Monthly Lunch - May 2010 (Vancouver, BC): Darkest and youngest looking wine yet. On the nose lots of blackberries and plums. Palate offers more dark fruits that are tart and youthful with some noticeable heat. Spicy notes coming through on both the nose and palate. This is a big, young wine with lots of tannin and acid. Slightly riper fruits then I'd expect. Needs 5 more years before taking another look. Very good. 89+ |
