6/7/2019 - Keith Cooper Likes this wine: 88 pointsTasted at the Three Borders Wine Group, Hampshire, UK. Dark garnet colour. Peppery, strawberries on nose. The palate has upfront fruit showing raspberries, pomegranate, cassis. This is quite a big wine and really needs food. Probably better in another couple of years. Pleasant overall. |

1/25/2014 - graemeg wrote: NR{screwcap, 14.5%} Big, rich and plummy. In flavour and texture not unlike trying to drink a velvet cushion. Open-knit grapey tannins, lots of liquorice and chocolate fruit; really sweet, almost jammy black fruit, medium/full-bodied, but not in an intimidating way; rather it's bit and friendly and cuddle, sort-of like an obese uncle. Certainly smells sweet, but the finish is dry enough; there's isn't really the huge weight to this that you might expect. A bit of a Wizard-of-Oz wine, all front and not so scary once you've dealt with it. Don't think this is for aging, whatever the pretentions of the Three Bridges label... |

12/4/2013 - Epic Tale Likes this wine: 88 pointscolor: aubergine; nose: earth and oak; taste: medium- to full-bodied mouth feel, fruity but also a little vegetal, medium-length chewy finish with notes of cherry and black pepper; overall: decent and worth buying again, fruity but not a fruit bomb, probably would pair well w/burgers or grilled flank steak |

7/5/2016 - graemeg wrote: NRNobleRottersSydney - 1996 night (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney): {375ml, screwcap} {Glenn} A developing blend of tart apples and apricot. Steely and sweet. Like an iron beam covered in honey. The palate is translucent and light, medium/dry for sweetness and with a glassy character. It has a freshness to it, but also a brittleness that suggests it will fall over very quickly. For now, it’s very drinkable, and avoids too much heavy sugary botrytis cloying character which often mars Riverina sweeties. |
