Still very pale honey colour. Needs a decent airing or decant as can be a bit dumb and reduced under screw cap. Still quite young, lovely pure fruit even a bit of kiwi fruit of all things. Lovely palate, mid weight, again lovely depth of fruit - no extraction. Crisp finish but with soft not hard acid finish. Beautifully made. Lovely wine. Still got years ahead of it

Unfortunately still very young.
Opaque deep crimson in color.
Muted nose with some aromas of meat, herbs, iron.
Still tight and tannic, not giving much, but the concentration and intensity of flavours is there and just waiting few more years to explode.
Would be a great wine in 3 to 5 years.
No rating given.

Outstanding, tropical fruit on nose, great acid supporting the ripe fruit, palate is well rounded, very moorish, could run for another 8 easily

Screwcap, 13.5% alc.
Luxuriant and glossy, dark ruby colour. Youthful bright hue.

Some lavish oak initially on the nose but when digging deeper, earth, blackberry, baking spices, and raspberry emerge.

Acidity is a feature on the palate, while the tannins are very delicate and dusty, yet flood the mouth. A touch blocky; it doesn’t reveal its charms reluctantly. Good, but not great length. Finishes savoury and earthy yet still seems like it needs more time to open up. A strong white pepper note runs through the wine, that I initially confused with alcohol breathiness.

Opinion: Not entirely convincing; it fell apart after a couple of days open.

My wife guessed riesling blind. Which I thought was fair. There’s a slight petro hint on the nose and a bit of fleshiness about it. I quite like the profile of this. Approachable young.

In a good place now. It’s super polished. Very clean profile of blackberries, plum and a long creamy finish. Dark and rich but not sweet. My last bottle and this feels at peak.

Smoke, lemon, graphite, pear and straw. Palate is fresh with plenty of acid drive, good texture and carry, really nice balance and poise at this intermediate stage of its life.

Light and pale yellow in colour, it looks a little thicker than a normal white.

Unusual in the sense that it has almost no smell, very light notes of green grass and lemon zest.

It's on the sweeter side and quite viscious in the mouth. Notes of honey and stone fruit with citrus on the finish.

In the decanter 2 hours prior to drinking. Blue and black fruited, slightly over extracted and raisened mid to back palate. Bigger than expected for Hunter, nice, but didnt love. Holding up well though

{screwcap, 10.7%} Mid yellow with a flash of green still. Grassy, mostly, with lime flavours and medium acid. Bone dry, light-bodied although with plenty of flavour. Even palate. Decent wine, seems like it still needs a fair bit of time to show real real development. Not quite hitting the spot yet but still worthy.

Aromas of sweet plums, sweetr spice, a little earth and blueberries and a touch of sulphur prickle. Juicy, savoury, quite closed and a little hard though with soft tannins that prove moouth coating, blueberry and plum fruit. Needs time to open. Hmm

OK this is better than I thought it would be. If that sounds weird, my partner wanted to buy a couple of bottles after a winery visit. I was thinking that was a bad idea. And yet this works. Its not as good as the regular Braemore, but it does have a bit of bite. Works best with food.

Dark Garnet core, very slight cloudiness, had significant sediment on decanting. I suspect unfiltered.
Sumptuous nose- cassis, dark cherry and red berries, stylish, full and earthy but everything in place.
Soft and silky, fruit is a touch muted but very tasty nonetheless. At the bigger end of Hunter shiraz, but not overdone. Very high quality fruit is obvious, just slightly masked by the very fine sediment.

{screwcap, 14.2%} Still youthfully ruby coloured. Spicy nose, but with plenty of blackberry fruit too. White pepper, and minimal oak. Palate is light in flavour, if a bit warm, with diffuse cherry-like fruit, faint blackberries, but not rich or jammy. Never unripe though. Even a bit hard, in fact. Medium weight, no more, but with prosaic sort of medium length finish. Probably needs a long decant, or a lot longer in the cellar to show its best I suspect. Overall, too young.

Mocha, chocolate and plum on the nose. Strong tannic backbone for a palate of dark fruit flavors. Medium bodied and spicy both forward and mid-palate. Medium length problem free finish. Paired well with lamb tips over Basmati rice and green beans.

{screwcap, 14.5%} Not much different to Jul-21. Plenty of ripe raspberry fruit, but always with a savoury, drying, spicy sort of twist. Balanced oak, medium-bodied at least, not especially evolved, medium length finish. Probably better in another decade.

FROM THOMAS WINES WEBSITE:
A blend of Shiraz from the Ridgeview, Sweetwater, Pokolbin Estate (Kiss and Dam Blocks), Cote D'or vineyards (in that order). An incredibly concentrated, yet inherently approachable medium-bodied Hunter Valley Shiraz. Typically blue fruited with some lifted spicy notes and a supple tannin structure that screams out for a second glass. The deliciously supple tannins envelop the dark and red-fruited core, providing a wine that suits current drinking or short to mid-term cellaring.

Order a pizza or spark up the BBQ and drink this to your hearts content. Seriously smashable…..

This wine delivers outstanding quality for the price and will provide excellent current drinking or mid-term cellaring.

{screwcap, 14.2%} Plenty of toasty oak supporting ripe red fruit. Only a little developed, but with medium dusty tannins and lowish acidity. It’s rich but not especially complex. Will keep. Some development still likely I think but it’s not a wine that shouts ‘Hunter’ if that’s what you’re looking for.

The cellar reserve of this which is the same wine apparently , just held back by the winery for more ageing before release. Green gold yellow. Hay, toast, honey and lanolin with a touch still of cut grass. delightful mid to full development Hunter sem. Plenty of flavour, super clean finish with hint of soapy richness at the end. So food friendly. Drink now but you are still good for another 5 years I feel as the acid level ensures a long life. Quite weighty in the mouth, certainly not on the ethereal side.

Hand carried over the Big Pond from my dear friend from Australia. What a beaut as they say. Young but totally enjoyable with smoked pork loin Christmas Eve dinner. Very pretty dark Shiraz aromatics with just enough burly rough-around-the-edges for a definitive youthful style. I'd love to see what this would do in 10 years' time, but we drank it. Thank you dear 'Old Fashoned Girl' for the special tipple.
