5/23/2024 - Pverd wrote: 91 pointsStill very pale honey colour. Needs a decent airing or decant as can be a bit dumb and reduced under screw cap. Still quite young, lovely pure fruit even a bit of kiwi fruit of all things. Lovely palate, mid weight, again lovely depth of fruit - no extraction. Crisp finish but with soft not hard acid finish. Beautifully made. Lovely wine. Still got years ahead of it |

4/24/2024 - Jimmy_D Likes this wine: 89 pointsMy wife guessed riesling blind. Which I thought was fair. There’s a slight petro hint on the nose and a bit of fleshiness about it. I quite like the profile of this. Approachable young. |

3/30/2024 - Jimmy_D Likes this wine: 91 pointsIn a good place now. It’s super polished. Very clean profile of blackberries, plum and a long creamy finish. Dark and rich but not sweet. My last bottle and this feels at peak. |

12/16/2023 - graemeg wrote: NR{screwcap, 10.7%} Mid yellow with a flash of green still. Grassy, mostly, with lime flavours and medium acid. Bone dry, light-bodied although with plenty of flavour. Even palate. Decent wine, seems like it still needs a fair bit of time to show real real development. Not quite hitting the spot yet but still worthy. |

I was thinking that was a bad idea. And yet this works. Its not as good as the regular Braemore, but it does have a bit of bite. Works best with food. |

5/21/2023 - graemeg wrote: NR{screwcap, 14.2%} Still youthfully ruby coloured. Spicy nose, but with plenty of blackberry fruit too. White pepper, and minimal oak. Palate is light in flavour, if a bit warm, with diffuse cherry-like fruit, faint blackberries, but not rich or jammy. Never unripe though. Even a bit hard, in fact. Medium weight, no more, but with prosaic sort of medium length finish. Probably needs a long decant, or a lot longer in the cellar to show its best I suspect. Overall, too young. |

5/10/2023 - 750ml Likes this wine: 91 pointsMocha, chocolate and plum on the nose. Strong tannic backbone for a palate of dark fruit flavors. Medium bodied and spicy both forward and mid-palate. Medium length problem free finish. Paired well with lamb tips over Basmati rice and green beans. |

It’s rich but not especially complex. Will keep. Some development still likely I think but it’s not a wine that shouts ‘Hunter’ if that’s what you’re looking for. |

2/10/2023 - crazywineguy Likes this wine: 91 pointsThe cellar reserve of this which is the same wine apparently , just held back by the winery for more ageing before release. Green gold yellow. Hay, toast, honey and lanolin with a touch still of cut grass. delightful mid to full development Hunter sem. Plenty of flavour, super clean finish with hint of soapy richness at the end. So food friendly. Drink now but you are still good for another 5 years I feel as the acid level ensures a long life. Quite weighty in the mouth, certainly not on the ethereal side. |

Young but totally enjoyable with smoked pork loin Christmas Eve dinner. Very pretty dark Shiraz aromatics with just enough burly rough-around-the-edges for a definitive youthful style. I'd love to see what this would do in 10 years' time, but we drank it. Thank you dear 'Old Fashoned Girl' for the special tipple. |
