Still good astringency and acid, but balanced. Can still age for another 2-3 years. Maybe as much as 5. Good qpr. Funky for sure. Very interesting. |

But fear not, that does fade and the wine becomes as pretty on the palate as it starts on the nose. That nose is very pretty and rich, dark chocolate covered blueberry tones are the dominant note and absolutely delectable. Palate entry is soft, rich and round, showing some slight alcohol, but mainly it's the dark berries and chocolate notes that are noticed. Really rich and pretty on the palate, with some acidic attack to balance out that intense dark complexion. Soft and sweet on the finish, with rich acid here too, dark blue berries, and again that chocolate note that lingers long into the finish. This is a great wine to close an evening out with. Pretty lovely, even for a guy who usually shies away from Languedoc wines... but the balance of fruit, chocolate notes, and acid here make this quite enjoyable even if a bit straight forward (i.e. not complex). Interestingly, this wine improves the taste of chocolate that tastes like it, but once you go back to the wine, it tastes really bitter and alcoholic on the finish. So a one way only pairing. This also was not nearly as good on day two. |

De smaak van deze grenache en syrah is heel geconcentreerd. Veel zwart fruit en wat specerijen. De tanines zijn al mooi afgebouwd. Deze wijn gedronken ter ere van de verjaardag van onze diva Roos die 1 jaar is geworden! @Okhuysen - EUR 13.50 |
