Dalla Terra Portfolio tasting (Nostrana, Portland OR): The nose favors the darker tones with dark red cherries, raspberries, currants, plums, licorice, violets, liqueur notes, and some toasted oak. This has some power behind it but the oak-driven flavors are a slight bit out of balance. The Medium/full bodied feel shows off a richer side with tart, medium+ acidity and chewy, medium+ tannins. This could use a few years to round into form and hopefully the oak integrates a bit more.

Found this recently when moving my cellar. Drinking beautifully, with complex nose, exhibiting secondary complexity, and rich black fruit, and softening tannins. Lovely balance, just at its drinking pinnacle now, but no issue for a few more years

Nice balance of fruit and oak on the nose. The palate is also well balanced, with a long, lingering finish.

A bit firmer than the 2018 we had recently, but just as good. This wine is a great value and quickly becoming a favorite!

Wonderfully perfumed nose. Nice fruit on the palate, with some earthy notes. Good acidity and slightly firm tannins. Drinks nicely now, but no hurry. Has at least another decade ahead of it.

Nice full-bodied wine, black fruit, some tannin lingers but no reason to delay, this won’t improve more.

Nice nose on black cherries and bacon.

The palate is very supple with a very fruity and textured juice. With a simple but balanced construction, the wine is drunk on its own. It’s a lighter montepulciano than I am used to drink. Nice intense and minty finish with good length.

A very good wine, devilishly efficient. Bought € 30 at the local enoteca, it's a nice pick.

shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. the bottle tasted 5/2018 was flawed. unfortunately, this bottle was also flawed. the wine had a burnt quality suggesting that it had suffered heat damage. such a disappointment as other members have described this as being a wonderful wine. a professional review had projected longevity thru 2018. i guess my bottles were poorly treated sometime prior to purchase.

Bright purple color. Deep aromatics of floral tea, violets with loamy, charcoal, incense sticks and clove. Full-bodied with solid grip to the tannins, but moderate acidity keeps it fresh. A tart, deep core of blackberry and plum. Lots of pencil lead, earth, tar, anise, coffee, cedar. Complex, floral, deep, this is a beauty of a Montepulciano, and while it has a lot of density, it also shows a nuance and balance, and an underlying stony minerality. This deserves three to four years in the cellar or a good decant. Aged 15 months in French oak and then six months in stainless steel.

Inky in colour. Beautiful bouquet of sweet black cherry, smoke and menthol with some vanilla. Palate very similar. Medium weight wine. This wine was very good indeed. It’s just a shame that these wines of this quality are not that readily available in the UK. Great wine

Incredibly deep colour, really saturated red black. Thick, viscous red legs. Nose is black fruits and alcoholic heat (15%) but not unattractive. All that extraction shows through on the palate with the black fruits accompanied by lots of tannins that don't appear to have abated significantly. This renders it a food wine at this stage of its evolution. There is stacks of ripe fruit there too but it could be quite a wait for those tannins to fully integrate. Reminds me of the Duemani 2006

Brought this to Mezzaluna to share with pat, Marty and Sandy. Unfortunately, the wine was flawed. Wet cardboard taste strongly suggests brett. Will attend to remaining bottle asap. Hope it is in better shape.

A strong recommendation from the waiter at Casa Bleve. This was a bigger, lusher wine than most we drank on this tour and than Montepulciano I have had. Food friendly and impressive.
