13.6% abv.
Per label, “After pressing, the wine was put into oak barrels to age for over one year… unfined and unfiltered… 71 cases were produced in 2014.”

Intact cork.
Ruby color with transparency at the edges.
Nose some polished black cherries, hint of spice.
Palate initially nondescript, with time some chalky tannins, then black cherries with noticeable minerality.
On day 2, more soft accessible fruit with hint of earth.

Still seems young and structured, but nice balance, doesn't taste new world (in a good way!)

Very interesting and enjoyable, complex wine. Aroma is reminiscent of Bordeaux. Tea-like tannins on the back end, balanced by just enough sweetness on the front end. Mouthwatering acidity gives it great drinkability, especially with food. Petit Verdot is not the most delicious wine grape. But this a very fine rendition.

Pale yellow in the glass with aromas of white flowers accented with spice. The palate is quite flowery, with notes of lychee in the background. Bone dry, with a zippy acidic backbone that makes this a pleasure to drink.

Similar notes to my last bottle 2.5 years ago; the wine has rounded out nicely. This should easily last through 2030.

Popped and poured. Crisp pear aroma with a hint of butter. Pure flavors of pears, lichee and minerals. Citrus notes in the finish. Fresh, lithe, lively, firm backbone, some complexity. Delightful, and probably has years ahead of it.

Popped and poured. Rich earthy aroma with a bit of cherry. Clean, flavors of cherry and leather. Slightly astringent leathery finish. Firm backbone, classic Sangiovese, great staying power, some complexity.

Another intriguing interpretation of a classic European variety from Ishi Pishi Ranch's terroir.

Popped and poured. Complex aroma of melon and peach, with chalky notes. Rich flavors of strawberry, red currant, tingly minerals mid palate, apples in the finish. Refreshing, summery, but with a firm backbone, depth and complexity. Excellent wine.

What struck me the most about this wine was the purity of fruit. It was like the grapes made the wine themselves. Red raspberry, red cherry and strawberry. Over time some more of the earthy tones came out. Lots of good structure. Everything in balance, nothing protruding. This might be the purest Pinot I’ve tasted to date in ‘23. Glad I’ve got another bottle to check out in 3-5 more years.

Popped and poured. Spicy dishwater aroma. A bit sharp when first opened, with a touch of petrol. This quickly dissipates, leaving gentle flavors of lichee and stone fruit which morph into an intense mineral finish.

This is just a notch below previous years, but still great. IPR gewurz is the best in the New World in my estimation, and can hold its own worldwide.

Popped and poured. Delicate, tangy cherry aroma. Clean red fruit flavor followed by a kick of loam. Earthy notes in the pleasantly bitter finish. Tight and restrained when first opened but quickly starts to open up. Excellent now, could get even better.

13.6%. Organically farmed grapes. 139 cases produced. Popped and poured 200ml, the rest filled an airtight 500ml resealable bottle to the top. Cork is some kind of composite, not very long. Unlike the cork, this wine seems to be built for the long haul. Opens up nicely in the glass. My initial impression is along the lines of Maphill01's note of 25 Feb 2023.

Will update on later tastings.

Flowers on the expressive nose. On the palate, cherry, sour cherry, black cherry, some baking spice. Ripe fruit, good acidity and surprisingly structured. Still youthful, with nice character, it will continue to develop over the next few years.

This was fantastic. Nicely developed, leaves, earth, spices, a touch of funk, and a distinct core of red currant. Excellent acidity and little tannin. About the only thing potentially wanting would be a longer finish. Great stuff. Wish I had more than just the single bottle.

This is very typical of a Spanish Rioja red, blind I would have guessed that it was from Spain. Don't know if it uses American oak but it does have that type of wood profile.

A fragrant, pure expression of the Bordeaux grape varieties. Dry, with no noticeable oak to distract from the fruit, and and no overripeness. Delightful, and terrific with food.

What a pretty wine. Nose is typical syrah — blackberry and black pepper. But palate shows its cool climate roots with lean red fruits and acidity, backed with some nice savory components: smoked meat, sage and more black pepper. Great balance between fruit and tannins; this still has a good number of years ahead of it. Thankful I have more in the cellar.

Splash decanted, followed over the evening. Nose of violet flowers. On the palate wild strawberry, raspberry cranberry and some orange peel. Medium body, medium+ acidity. Still fairly structured, but the tannins, acid and fruit are all in balance. Drink now with some air for its energetic deliciousness, or wait a few years for additional development. Glad to have a few more of this classic cool climate Pinot.

This is a Goldilocks wine for me. While some wines can be too lean, or too fat, or too oaky, or too...well you get the gist, this wine is just right. Everything is well balanced and delicious. This is my favorite Briceland white that I've ever had the pleasure of drinking, and in my top 3 Briceland wines of all time.

Nose of bramble raspberry and white and purple flowers. On the palate the wine is noticeably lighter in body than previous years with flavors of raspberry, spice, flowers and a mild green herbal note. Balanced with nice acidity that is well integrated into the wine and a lingering finish.

Less powerful than previous versions of Ronda’s, this is lovely now and should age nicely through the end of the decade. 91-92

Opened one hour in advance. Aroma of floral red fruit with a bit of brininess. Light flavors of red fruit up front, fatty bacon finish with herbal notes. Complex, chimerical. A beautiful and unique expression of syrah.
