2023 Château Latour-MartillacPessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend more |
5/4/2024 - Jeff Leve wrote: 93 pointsSmoky, black cherries, blackberries, leafy herbs, cigar wrapper, flowers, and spice fill the perfume. The wine is rich, dark, and chewy on the palate, with a touch of spice that lingers along with all of that dark red pit fruits in the mid-palate, that carry through to the finish. This should age quite nice well, yet be approachable young. The wine blends 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot. 13.5% ABV, pH 3.8. Drink from 2027-2043. 92-94 Pts. |

5/4/2024 - Jeff Leve wrote: 93 pointsGreen apples, white flowers, white peach, lemons, and honeysuckle are a treat to find in the perfume. On the palate, the wine is fresh, and focuses you easily on the crisp, juicy, sweet, lemons, and green apples in the palate, and in the finish. This will be easy to enjoy on release. The harvest took place August 18 - August 31.The wine blends 60% Sauvignon Blanc, with 40% Semillon. 13% ABV. Drink from 2025-2034. 93 Pts. |

5/3/2024 - Ben2502 wrote: 92 pointsBouquet of Red fruit initially at opening. Then notes of black plum, blackberry with a touch of floral. Smooth & roundness on the palate with 2hrs + decant. I’d say it still needs +/-5yrs of bottle aging to be in a better drinking window for my taste |

4/10/2024 - pavel_p Likes this wine: NRAnother year since my last bottle and this must be no 7 or 8 in fairly regular intervals since release. Consistent showing with good depth and concentration of dark fruit, good freshness not overripe like some 09 Bdx can be. The 09 Batailley (opened a day later) now feels a bit more polished and also with a touch more depth but this was superb value at $27 on release and a great 09 in the low to mid price range |

4/8/2024 - Ryan@Rhone wrote: 91 pointsDidn’t decant but kept open for a couple of hours. The nose was very closed throughout. Grippy tannis and good acidity. Fruit is there but a little nondescript. It wasn’t interesting or compelling for me but OK for Monday night. Will see how it goes over a few more years. Reasonable quality for the price and good food wine. 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (2) |

4/4/2024 - sh6k Likes this wine: 93 pointsNot usually a fan of younger Bordeaux especially without a lot of decanting but I liked this one quite a bit. Tannins were present for sure but well integrated into the cigar box pencil lead vibe. The usual dark fruits, slightly cooked (but pleasantly so). Quite extracted (which I like) and dense but not at all cloying — again the tannins are keeping it back. Like a heavily brewed plum iced tea. |

3/31/2024 - Coastalnative Likes this wine: 93 pointsAbsolutely fantastic! Deep golden color was a concern but the wine was sublime and fresh. Notes of lemon, ginger, damp hay, toasted marshmallow and flint. Massive attack and long persistent finish. I wish we decanted this |

3/25/2024 - Purple Tooth wrote: 92 pointsAfter stumbling on the 2010 and again being blown away by the 2015, I was so enamored by this producer that I contacted them, asking for recommendations on a hidden gem. They immediately responded 2016! I tried it in person at UGC, with the owners of the property and was too embarrassed to disagree. I love 2016 and think its the best vintage of Bordeaux for the long haul, above and beyond 2009,2010, and 2015 and 2018. But....Here, you need lots of patience and for me...Another case of the 2015 please. HOLD____Its got lots of power under the hood. |

3/17/2024 - WineGuyDelMar Likes this wine: 93 pointsDecanted two hours. This has really transformed itself into something really good now. Earthy, musty, barnyard Bordeaux that I’m really liking now. I didn’t really think much of this until now and now I’d like to buy more and I will. Medium weight but lots of Bordeaux character now. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (6) |
