This is a seriously deep and big Sangiovese with plum, cherry, huge truffle and brined black olive on the attack and mid-palate. Leather, anise, truffle and coffee on the finish. The wine continues to deepen and evolve with every sip. I so wish I had held this for a more complex, complementary, and appropriate meal. This is a stupendously good wine just now, but it has years ahead of it. The mouthfeel is full with round tannins. The fruit isn’t likely to go anywhere anytime soon. Very little sediment. 15% alc. With assorted cheeses including Stilton, country ham, black olives and crusty bread. 01.12.24. Highly Recommended. |
