Tense and coiled on the palate, it builds on layers of fruit and minerals, wrapped in a rich and spicy shell, with excellent balance and structure. Great definition of flavors on the palate, which lasts through the extensive finish. A fantastic example of what the 2011 vintage can offer in white Burgundies. What a treat. |

What was unique about this wine was the mix of natural aged reduction, with no flaw or premox, against the still-flinty stoniness and delineation of Coche/Puligny. Just a beautiful symphony of mature tree fruits with a dominant taste of orange peels. Neal thought this was a wonderful example of how a top producer read and navigated a demanding vintage well and this was clearly built for age - drinking well now for those that like a slightly reductive style of aged white burgs. |

Decanted half of the bottle which turned out to be a good idea. The nose was already great to begin with, but what surprised me is how complex the wine became. It kept changing. Reduction disappeared, then came apples, apricots, pineapples, pears, etc while keeping that Meursault nose. It goes on and on. A very precise and well made wine. The only defect it has right now it's that it's a bit too young. Wait a few more years if you have this. |
