11/29/2014 - jheathw Likes this wine: 93 pointsReminds me of a slightly more unwound version of the 2011 PYCM St Aubin 1er Cru I had earlier this year. Lemon curd, hazelnuts and a touch of butter, all cut with laser-like acidity. Wonderful pairing with top-notch Chinese takeout. A pleasure to drink tonight. |

10/24/2014 - jheathw Does not like this wine: NRColor was darker than I would have expected. Alcohol was very prominent, which is not surprising for a wine listed at 15.6%. Didn't seem flawed; but like the other 2007's I've had (Lauren & Ritchie) a disappointment. |

3/17/2014 - jheathw wrote: 93 points3 hours in the decanter on night one, this drank very well with ribeye steaks. 2 nights later however this was absolutely singing . . . perfumed nose with serious cassis and plum on the palate -- classic St Julien. Wish I had a few more to cellar. |

12/3/2012 - jheathw Likes this wine: 98 pointsQuite possibly the best white wine I've ever had...which was unexpected as i remember not being blown away with the first bottled opened a few years ago in comparison with the Lauren/Ritchie. Typical Aubert tropical notes but all balanced with white flowers and hazelnut undercurrents...brilliant! |

7/25/2011 - jheathw wrote: 94 pointsThis was exquisite...a happy medium between California tropical fruit (Aubert) and Burgundian elegence (Batard-Montrachet). Could have smelled this wine all night...a perfect match for butter-poached lobster & summer succotash fettuccini. Skipped the second vintage when my son was born to save some cash so I don't get offered any more...what a mistake!!! |

1/30/2010 - jheathw wrote: 93 pointsTasted in a blind flight of Bordeaux. It only stood out when it was announced there was a ringer in the group as it carries a bit more fruit on the palate. Chalky tannins remain as a buttress to the gorgeous fruit on the palate and finish. Always enjoy this wine. |

1/30/2010 - jheathw wrote: 84 pointsWow...initially this was an acid bomb, very little fruit...as it warmed up though it started to flesh out a bit, but it never really hit its stride. Hope this was just in awkward place and will resolve itself in time. |

2/24/2009 - jheathw wrote: 88 pointsEnjoyed this much more this time. It seems to have put on weight and the juicy fruit was fron and center. Nothing earth-shattering, but a very nice cherry-driven pinot that went well with salmon. |

1/31/2009 - jheathw wrote: 93 pointsVery nice upon opening but even better after saving 1/2 the bottle in the fridge overnight...the slight astringency that initially stood out on the finish mellowed and the tropical fruit and minerality seemed to become more pure. |

12/25/2008 - jheathw wrote: 88 pointsHad some reduction that somewhat blew off, but not entirely. The acid is at the forefront at this point, but there seems to be some fruit that wants to emerge. Not sure if time will improve this....nevertheless I'm going to wait and see with my remaining bottle. |
