4/19/2006 - Wusman wrote: 89 pointsDark red. The initial 20 minutes out of the bottle for this wine were a bit tough. It was green and a touch funky. After 30+ min of airtime some of the more typical aromas were present. Dark fruit, cassis, maybe some wood. Fairly smooth on the mid palate. The tannins here were medium to heavy on the finish. Easy to drink. |

4/11/2006 - Wusman wrote: 91 pointsTranslucent purple. Cherries and sweet herbs with some heat on the nose. Chocolate on the palate with cherries as well. Moderate depth with tannin that complements the medium body of the wine. Agreed that this lacks the depth of the 01 or 02. Nevertheless, a great effort. |

2002 Château Cos d'EstournelSt. Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend more |
4/3/2006 - Wusman wrote: 92 pointsOpened with the 2001. Also deep purple with a reserved nose of spice, cassis, ceda. A little more alcohol on the nose than I expected. Palate with mouthfilling berry and cassis flavors. A touch of bitterness at the end. Not off putting, but present. Moderate finish with more noticable tannin. This was a nice wine, but not up to the 2001. Of course it is a year younger, but already the '01 is much more expressive. Better on the second night. |

4/3/2006 - Wusman wrote: 94 pointsSolid purple. Immediate aromas of sweet berries, cedar, and earth filled the glass. Very pretty. The palate was silky smooth with pleasant tannic backbone. Sweet cassis, wood, graphite all there in abundance. Moderately long finish. Drank in combination with the '02. This was much more expressive and smooth without the slight bitterness at the end. A very nice surprise. |

3/22/2006 - Wusman wrote: 93 pointsThis is what shiraz should be. My first bottle of Dead Arm. Opened and left to sit for 2 hrs. Consumed over two days. Dark purple. No evidence of any lightening. Powerful nose full of spice, menthol, blueberries. Very thick almost coating the glass with purple liquid. Deep, silky tannins with loads of black fruit on the palate. Very good. |

2003 Château Cap de FaugèresCastillon Côtes de Bordeaux Red Bordeaux Blend more |
3/1/2006 - Wusman wrote: 86 pointsMy first 2003 bordeaux. Right away this smelled californian to me. Merlot aromas dominated with blueberries at the front. Palate coating and thick. More like a Barrosa shiraz than bordeaux. Slight touch of bitterness which quickly subsided to sweet dark fruit. Some noticable alcohol and moderate tannins concealed below the fruit. A nice wine, but not what I would call typical bordeaux. |
