OMG #105 (Ann Arbor, MI): 14.4% abv (less than the 15.2% for the 2004 Loring Durell tasted alongside), but this tasted even more hot due to less overall balance.

14.4% abv. Screw cap. Recent auction purchase. In very good shape, with plenty of fruit and no sign of decline. Very "Californian" flavor profile with some cola and ripe fruit. A little bitterness on the finish. Not quite as enjoyable to me as the recent 2006 Cargasacchi I opened. Love opening these older Cali Pinot screw caps!

Got this at auction for <$15 and hoped for the best (based on some recent positive reviews) . Never dabbled in screw-cap bottles this old, so prepared myself with skepticism. To my surprise, after blowing off a quick bit of funk, this tasted pretty fresh. Agree with a previous reviewer that it drank more like a bordeaux blend than pinot. Nice secondary characteristics and moderate finish. I'd like to dabble in some other vintages if the opportunity presents itself.

Cellar diminishment party - brief note. I thought this showed very well; plenty of red fruit and just a bit of earth. Finishes very well.
