Very mature dusty flavors of dried fruits - rasins, figs, sour cherries, and prunes. Hints of oak, black tea and dark chocolate. Some pleasant bitterness, but the alcohol quite present and a little too "hot" on the aftertaste and missing some freshness IMHO. All in all - a fully matured and lovely Amarone true to the style - but not my style anymore. 90+ |

Nevertheless, a well made wine in its own style with good structure, decent balance and medium length. The mature fruit flavors actually carries the rather heavy use of oak quite well. Paired nicely with slow cocked Osso Buco and risotto. 89-90p |
