4/21/2024 - 831900_ Likes this wine: 92 pointsDark in color, and dark in the mouth, but it suggests a light playful floral sweetness at the edge of the bouquet. In the mouth the spice makes it quite serious, but never going heavy or meaty. A lot of balance and tension here. Needs air today. |

4/17/2024 - parkline_wine Likes this wine: 92 pointsThis tasted like a Jura (Tissot). But really fanned out nicely and dropped the initial musty note that was there. Nice tropical fruit tones, tastes warm! Finishes nicely. |

3/22/2024 - jnewman77 Likes this wine: NRPretty tasty; young and with a dark ruby color; nose with some black cherry and lots mineral notes; hint of earth and floral notes; the palate is quite fresh for an '18 with a juicy salinity; good depth and then the tannins become more prominent. The balance is really quite nice for the vintage; its drinkable now, but has the structure to age for many years. |

3/21/2024 - joshabramson Likes this wine: 93 pointsThese reds from Simon Bize offer some of the best value in Burgundy. Punching well above its weight, this was drinking great tonight — elegant & pretty red fruit, showing fairly mature for a 19’ but in a good way, this is very ready to drink. |

3/17/2024 - Kloseframe Likes this wine: 93 pointsI agree with the previous notes in terms of flavor profile. This was pretty dry on night one, which I often find with Bize wines, but was completely resolved on night two. I got a good mix of fruit and earth. Before this, I had only had Bize wines with about 5-7 years and with about 30 years, but nothing in this 10-20 year window. I often found the 5-7 too young and the 30 too old, so this seemed in the right window for my palette. |

3/9/2024 - jnewman77 Likes this wine: NRNatural cork closure; color was pretty golden so I was somewhat concerned, but this turned out to be just fine; riper and richer than the regular Savigny blanc with baked apple and pear, some lemon pie; the palate is round and rich, but has more energy than initially it seems like it might. Very enjoyable; will probably drink my other bottle soon rather than risk oxidation. |

3/7/2024 - jnewman77 Likes this wine: NRReally good stuff; punches above its level; fresh but ripe red berry fruits, a hint of orange zest, violet and just a hint of petrichor. The palate is fresh and delicious with each sip just lingering and begging for another. A great value. |

3/1/2024 - Tudz Drkl Likes this wine: NRLight ruby/garnet with a touch of thinning present at edges. Opacity low. Very interesting nose of tea, light red fruits, potting soil, cranberries (other light tart red fruits) balsamic vinegar, smoke, compost and straw. Silky fine, tannins provide round structure and with good acidity, provide nice texture. The fruit is savory, red and orange with tea notes. Refined, elegant and beautiful. |

2/9/2024 - Wine Canuck wrote: 93 pointsThis pours light ruby in the glass with touches pink toward the watery rim. The nose is highly aromatic and complex from the initial pop and pour showing rose petal, cinnamon stick, sassafras, pomegranite, blood orange, fresh cut ginger, new leather, and nascent whisps of petrichor. The palate enters on the ripe and generous red and lightly citrus tinged fruit. Tannin is medium minus with a velvety texture with medium plus citrusy acid. The finish lingers very impressively replaying much of the nose. All in all I absolutely loved this wine. In a vintage that is often marked by its forward but lighter toned fruit, this wine retains old world, earthy character more than the norm. |

3/1/2024 - ghost77 wrote: 89 pointsUsually this wine offers crazy value; but it seems 2021 has taken another victim. Acidity is on the lower side, fruits are not clean and overall lacks tension. Still an enjoyable wine, but does not offer anything more (as other vintages usally do). |

2/29/2024 - Mag357 Likes this wine: NRRich and perfectly balanced, scents of reduction blowing off with air, grilled hazelnuts and lime are followed by a yellow fruit inflected and quite rich mouthfeel, with excellent depth of flavors, and well balanced by its lemony and limey acids, ending in a chalky and persistent finish. Very good CC, a tad young, it has the potential to improve with a few more years. Slightly under the superb 2017. |

2/29/2024 - Oysteih Likes this wine: NRLeapyear tasting (Red Dot Winebar Kristiansand): Beautiful complex and living nose, developed red fruit, forest floor, meat. Medium - body, med alc, med + acid, fresh, blacker fruit on the palate, mushroom broth, a little green herbs, blood and minerals, finishes a little short, and doesnt really hold up to the acid towards the end. Drink now. |

2/28/2024 - palfr2 wrote: NRDinner at home with friends - has evolved quite a bit from first time I had it 4+ years ago. Consistently with expectations the bracing acidity has largely receded but the wine is still fresh and full of verve. There is lots of cinnamon and baking spices on the nose. The palate has filled out some. A lovely 2013 GC at the beginning of its peak drinkability window |

2/27/2024 - jnewman77 Likes this wine: NRThis was excellent; definitely still young; the nose took a bit to open up and then showed lovely ripe lemon, yellow apple, hints of pear and crushed stone; it continued to open and become more expressive adding notes of orchard blossom and peach. The palate is delicious; not a rich powerful style of CC, mineral driven and energetic without much oak, but still shows great intensity and a lovely finish. Bottled with natural cork. I will probably drink my other bottle in the next couple of years as I like it now and with the natural cork closure don't want to risk oxidation. |
