4/30/2024 - gharter Likes this wine: 90 pointsPnP. Aromas of cherry, strawberry, vanilla, herbs, stems, and earth. On the palate, cherry, strawberry, cherry, pomegranate, spice, herbs and stems. Good balance to a medium finish. Soft tannins in the finish. Finally hitting it's stride. Last bottle and the best of the 3. |

4/28/2024 - peternelson Likes this wine: 91 pointsMaybe my least fav of the 3 ('10, 12, 14) but still not bad; had soft orchard fruits, maybe a bit overripe, lower acidity and quite broad on the palate. Wasn't as interesting as the '12 Alpine, and lacked the concentration of the '10 Alpine. EWG chard/cabs dinner Glendora CC. |

4/28/2024 - peternelson Likes this wine: 93 pointsLovely vibrant nose of fresh orchard fruits, some reduction, melon, lemon; super well balanced, the most acidity of the 3 ('10, 12, 14), lots of spirit, really well-balanced and still youthful. this could go another 4-5 years (or more?) but I'd drink it now with pleasure. EWG chard/cabs dinner Glendora CC. |

4/28/2024 - peternelson Likes this wine: 91 pointsIn a line-up of 3, 2010, 12, and 14. They were all just about the same color, medium dark yellow; this one had rich, slightly aged chard notes of caramel, dark honey, hazelnut, apricot pie crust kind of thing; in the mouth med full, attenuated acidity, a bit flabby but concentrated and full flavored with a nice finish. Probably 2-3 years past its prime but still very interesting and lots to enjoy. EWG chard/cabs dinner Glendora CC. |

4/29/2024 - Mike Dildine Likes this wine: 96 points12.1% abv. Light straw, very aromatic. Strong, intense flavors of lemon zest and saline minerals. Great depth and length, extremely energetic. Outstanding Chardonnay at an early plateau stage, lot of very pleasurable years remaining. |

4/29/2024 - lltl2021 Likes this wine: 91 pointsNeeds time. First day is showing nothing. Has some apple, peach on the nose. Drinks like lemon flavor San Pellegrino. Second day is much better, honey, white flower, mineral. |

4/27/2024 - silton Likes this wine: 92 pointsOpen for about 6 hours but never decanted - but should have been, as the later glasses unclenched and showed the wine's true character. You can think of this wine as a medium between everything with its balanced and business-casual earth tones, or as kinda mid (for a Rhys). I appreciate having less phenolic density, but at the moment there's a flat (stemmy?) top note. I've had better experiences with Home in the past, and wish I'd sat on this bottle another few years. |

4/23/2024 - alanr wrote: 93 pointsMedium golden color, has a lovely nose of crushed fruit, touch of red apple; nice medium intensity on the palate, has the typical touch of Alpine “honey”, not in a sweet way, but in its richness. If only there was a bit more salinity, but that’s not a trait I find as much in the Rhys Chards. |

4/19/2024 - MattMauldin Likes this wine: 95 pointsSome soaking up the cork while cellared. Clear, bright-ruby color with hints of amber. Alluring aromatics of fig, both braised and fresh, with hints of red apple skin, along with sandalwood, nutmeg, black tea, brown mushroom and fresh hibiscus. Integrated and resolved on the palate, with refined notes of fig and savory cherry, with a melange of secondary notes - rocky soil, fall foliage, five spice, clove, tea, red florals. Elegant and persistent on the palate, finely rounded, with seamlessly integrated acid and very smooth and resolved tannins, finishing with subtle, dusty red fruit and spice depth, lively and long. In a prime spot, late secondary/early maturity. 3 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

It’s definitely a California wine, but the story is about the dirt. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (3) |

4/18/2024 - WoodieBayArea wrote: 95 pointswow... this was fantastic!!... poured it and was darker than any chard from Rhys I've ever seen -- had me worried, and my wife frightened (she hates smoke and age and roundness)... anyway, none of the above came out on the palate after about three hours of decant... this was - yes - rich on the palate but with great acidity and lift... just the right balance... fantastic, reminded me of the days when we were still drinking 20-year-old white burgs (from the '80's) and loving this experience |

Tropical fruit on the nose, more pineapple than citrus, with maybe some sweet powdered lemon candy elements. The palate is broad and deep, good fruit but lacking acidity and low complexity. I guessed this wine to be Rhys. |
