12/3/2018 - pclin wrote: 92 pointsThis case just arrived from London today, bought during EP for a song. Floral with touch of cedar on the nose. Fairly dense on the palate for the vintage as the 2nd wine of Eglise Clinet. Sweet and smooth on the entry. Still some fine tannins on the mid-palate. Touch of bitter chocolate at finish. Some oaks still lingering at backend but not bothersome. Excellent acidity. ABV 13.5% with little hint of alcohol at finish. Decent complexity and good length. Great showing for the vintage. Over-achiever. Obviously no travel shock. Sipping this with Kazuo Zaitsu singing “Flower of Cactus” in the background, so fitting as the wine is as smooth as the song. |

6/9/2018 - wineforth Likes this wine: 90 pointsLovely violet perfumed nose, then cedar and blackcurrant. Complex flavours. Good weight of fruit. Too acidic for my taste so a couple of points deducted. According to an article I read recently this excess acidity will become less obvious in time. 4 bottles left so time will tell. |

9/13/2018 - Remony wrote: 89 pointsNo more than a two dimensional Pomerol at this stage of its development. Simple, lacking sweetness, assertive. Indeed initially quite aggressive, modern and contrived. But after several hours (and the next day), it shows more possibilities, although tannic and unbalanced. Leave for a number of years. |

8/15/2018 - Smahlatz Likes this wine: 87 pointsA little blocky currently. Solid topical nose of plums. Palate is solid. Needs more time to open out. Second day showed far more mineral complexity and interest on the finish. |

4/5/2018 - GNBB wrote: 91 pointsDecanted 45 minutes. No signs of ageing on rim. A ripe, intense nose with clear black fruits (berries, cherries), violets, some light vanilla. Palate is intense and firm - good acidity and firm, fine but still clear tannins. Palate showing plenty of black fruits and ripe flavours. Still feels quite young but more integration of the components required. Should become a very fine wine. Drink 2020-2028. |

3/26/2018 - vinero Likes this wine: 91 points2nd wine from famous Pomerol estate Eglise-Clinet. In the glass light purple with slight brown edges. Nice, fruit nose. On the palate nice fruit, with only a hint of tertiary aromas, with a long, bit dry finish. Overall younger in appearance, than i expected and showing really nice. |
