Good deep dark red, not showing any age.
Ripe dark fruits, black currant & dark berries.
A big full round palate with lovely texture, dry. Excellent drinking but will keep well for a few years yet, great value.

It’s always nice to try an extended Rioja vertical. You really get a sense of the house style. The last time I did a LAN vertical was with the 2012, 2010, and 2008. Rioja Gran Reservas have the stones to be birth year wines without breaking the bank, and this is no exception. Drink now through 2028.

I have had this wine for a couple of years. It has continued to improve. However, given its price range, I would expect it to plateau from here. That is at a level which is well above what one would expect for the price. Classic Rioja.

This was brought to a party. Cherry on the nose; cherry, blackberry, and notes of vanilla oak and plum on the medium finish, with moderate tannins and strong acidity. It's not as distinctive as more expensive labels, but it's classic Rioja with enough character to make it interesting.

Quite good, if a little by the numbers. American oak up front with vanilla and coconut, with bright blackberry in the background. Moderate tannin and finish. Very good for $20.

Excellent produit et rapport qualité prix. Fruit confituré de prunes et cerise rouge, belle longueur, tannins fondus tout en douceur, belle acidité qui donne une finale sur la canneberge très agréable

Great QPR. Still robust. Drank it right after 2020 California Cab that was big and this stood up to it. I’ll get more and let it age 3-4 years.

I spent 7 beautiful , interesting and active days in Krakow. I drank a lot of wine...
First wine at home. And it's lovely with a crazy Spanish price - 14€ for a 2016 Reserva. Strong aromas, strong taste, balance, structure, long finish. What else do we need?
I think - less sweet black fruits and more vivid red fruits.
Anyway... Smell - plum, black cherry, red cherry, minerals, milk chocolate, oak, leather and tobacco.
The taste is full of black and red fruits and even blueberries are here. But what is the most important acidity and tannins are in full, positive of course, play. Especially in a long spicy finish.
LAN name is an acronym of each of the provinces it straddles: Logroño (the capital of Rioja and the region's name until 1980), Álava and Navarra.

Quite a treat. Fruity but not jammy, with bright showings of tart cherry and stone fruit. Luscious mouthfeel that highlights the vanilla of the oak pleasantly. I get a lot of herbs, too--thyme, tarragon, and (as one other reviewer suggested) a touch of dill. White pepper (and maybe the slightest hint of CURRY?) down the middle and through the finish. I like my Tempranillo smokier, but this is delicious.

Maybe still on the young side? Oak up front but it’s well integrated. Sturdy tannins, dark fruit and jam, chocolate, leather(?). Stands up to red meat like a boss.

On the nose: Strawberry, cherry, vanilla, leather, earthy
Tastes: pretty much the same
This is extremely fruity. I don't find this wine super balanced. The initial taste is somewhat one note, then it finishes fairly acidic.

This blend of 97% Tempranillo and 3% Mazuelo has a fresh, medium-high to highly aromatic nose of red cherry, sweet oak spice, coconut, vanilla, and herbs. On the full-bodied palate it has fresh acidity and a crunchy mouthfeel with lovely, slightly desiccated red cherry, floral, coconut, and herbal flavours Ripe tannins are integrating nicely, while savoury coconut notes linger on the finish, with excellent length.
