2010 Château La LaguneHaut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend more |
5/5/2024 - Jimaronson Likes this wine: 94 pointsClassic French style wine. It is 60% cab and approximately 40% merlot. The combination give a sense of smoothness throughout. The fruit is sweet with a French silky palate of plumb, toasted carmel, vanilla, slight graphite, and some pony barn. The tannins are resolved. Enjoy the bottle now as the fruit is abundant and the wine will not get better. I would open one between now and next year. The 2010 wines are classic structure and therefore I think the drinking window is within the next five years. I slow oxidized it for an hour and then went to the restaurant. I decanted it briefly to remove sediment and then put it back in the bottle. It was fragrant and open for business when I popped the cork. |

4/30/2024 - funbobby626 Likes this wine: 94 pointsGreat wine, old but still very much alive. Good color for its age, with some brown but still some dark purple. Started out quite acidic, and still has some fruit and some tannin. After about a half hour in the decanter it was really singing, beautifully balanced, and very classic cabernet nose and palate. You could have convinced me this was a california cab from the nineties. This must have been undrinkably tannic when released, but after fifty years it's pretty great. |

3/23/2024 - CarpeDiem! Likes this wine: 92 pointsA good Lagune 1996, finally! After many deceptions in the past are we reaching the harbour? Nicely matured, complex and elegant, with noble wood, subtle leather and tobacco and mokka. A great Médoc. |

4/7/2024 - lozatron Likes this wine: NRKentish Feast (Petts Wood): Opened at the last minute when it became apparent that more red would go well with the remaining food. Again, clean as a whistle, a hint of camp fire, mushroom, lovely fruit gently carrying on underneath it all. Foolishly finished all the preceding bottle before trying this as would have been great to contrast - my sense is that this was perhaps a little less focused but it's also possible that by that stage it is I who was a little less focused. |

3/31/2024 - LuckyLars Likes this wine: 94 pointsDecanted for about 90 minutes prior to serving. Dark garnet showing no signs of maturity on the rim. The bouquet was berries and dark fruit with a hint of secondary notes. The wine was medium/full bodied, rich and round. Lovely silky mouth feel with excellent balance. Drinking beautifully now and should drink well for many years. |
